Isn't Pelagos story about how he/she felt missaligned in his/her former life? His/her arc is clearly a transgendered story or at least try to be.

reincarnation is sort of a soft reset on your soul. You don't really remember your former life nor does your new life take the past life into account except if you lived a good life or not. Which determines if you get turned into some lifeform that's seen as good or bad. Different concept than what's presented.

Cases of "forced representation" is just people being butthurt that minorities exist.

No one ever claims that including a heterosexual man in a game is forced, for some reason. While this is clearly not the only type of a human being that exists in the real world.

It's the other way around actually. It's the cis white male that was forced into every game in history without good narrative reason. And guess what, no one ever asks for justification of introducing such a character. The modern attempts to introduce a larger variety into games are attempts to actually break that monopoly that was artificially established.

It being forced is the way Soldier 76 and Dumbledore was handled.
Tracer in comparison was done very well even though people still got salty, but nevertheless, handled very well. Soldier and Dumbledore are cases of pure pandering to people, hence why it's factually forced, and even the "lgbt community" agreed that it was dumb and clearly an afterthought to these two characters.

It should just be added naturally to any medium, it doesn't need headlines, it doesn't need the actual morons that go "OMG THERES AN LGBT PERSON IN THIS MEDIUM"

Really hoping this isn't the way Blizzard and other companies are going to be going forward here. Feels like every major company is desperate to force these types of characters into their game/movies/shows/etc. to look "progressive" and win over people that otherwise wouldn't be interested in their product. If a character's only trait is that they're LGBT that means it's a very poorly written character, no idea why but for some reason I expect better.

I think the main reason why especially trans people have gotten such a bad rep in the last few years is exactly because of the idiots on Twitter making them all look like sensitive little twats, which they are not, they're just normal people like everyone else.

Almost every trans person I've had the pleasure of getting to know irl or over online communities all distance themselves from those idiots, it's a shame that a vocal minority has the power to make them all look bad and they don't even realize the damage they're doing
