Nobody actually enjoys demo. Most people are destro or affy fans and that is simply because if prior expansion nostalgia

There is no hope for Demon. Blizzard have decided to ignore it. It will be awful for all the expansion.

May be in the next one, if it gets the rework it deserves. It can be the Shadow Priest of the next expansion and become the best dps of the game.

Hyperbole serves nothing. There has been a few changes but the spec does not need a complete rework. You might not like the way the spec is now but that isn't the same as being objectively bad or in need of change. Demonology has had a lot of attention over the years. Its fine to not be in the spotlight.

Wont be surprising. Affliction was good at the start of bfa got nerfed. People swapped to demo that got hit with nerf to explosive potential so they went Destro and Blizzard said "eh we'll do something next expansion" and heres the result

It is true though. The spec doesn't need a complete rework. Tuning and some minor changes sure. A 100% complete rework? Nope. Perhaps you should be dredging up your old posts to not forget.

Mechanically Demon is perfectly fine, I just miss an aoe shard generator like demonwrath and some QoL like Dreadstalkers instant or a couple of talent tweaks; but is pretty strong just talking about mechanics. Demon needs a dps increase, just that. Pretty early to say the %, but around 10-15% at least.

They need to do a total rework, back in tbc when they first introduced the Felguard they announced it as the go to demon.

Now they want us to use different demons in different situations. But as a master of Summon we should use all demons in all situations. We should not have a baseline pet instead Simon al Demons Instant as e need them

Demo is not the special snowflake. Outside of covensntd we see 3 or 4 talent changes/month. Dont expect more than tuning.

The delay will be used to balance the game and fix some bugs. There is enough work.

shadow has been one of the worst specs to play for the last 2 years, not sure where the favorite spec thing is coming from.

It doesn't need a rework you just want meta demo back.
Demo as it exist has a handful of real problems like having significant ramp up time to st and to aoe, lack of real interrupt,NP design, and being in an awkward mobility place, locked out of all demons save for felguard.
Demo has loads of tuning problems that can be easily fixed like too much dps tied into major summon(all warlocks suffer from this.) Demons themselves feel weak except for talented ones. Numbers low on beta across the board.
Demo has a dev problem in that their niche is pure st and stacked cleave neither of which are really designed for.
Demo has loads of aesthetic issues like too many blood imps and weak seeming and feeling demons in general.


A few minor reworks and some major tuning and demo will be fine. They just don't wanna tune for some reason and give the few design problems that do exist a cursory look at best.

Their biggest issue is simply being overlooked. Redo our main demon selection to fill roles like st/split cleave/aoe/control/etc, let demo control 2 at once. Make major summons instant cast(including np) Give demo a way to work around the ramp up for either st or aoe( st?) And demo just needs number tweaks.

I rly like demo's playstyle,a master summoner is what demo should be,the entire demon form was never right for warlock,a demo lock isnt a demon,hes a master over demon armies as a dk is over undead,demo just needs some tuning numbers wise,and ramp be made better,also i wish they would bring back the legion demon buff back but work as a cd not as a constant thing u had to refresh after every imp sumon
