Doesn’t matter. It’s the principle. A gaming company making a gacha game is shouting to the public “all we care about is money.” Gacha games are a cancer upon the mobile gaming world (and slowly but you better fucking bet surely it will grow more and more on PC and consoles) and supporting one by playing it is advancing the infectious disease that is gacha gaming.

I've been really enjoying it, without even indulging in the gacha aspect. Hopefully it doesn't become necessary in the future to keep leveling up.

    Not just the principle.

Every gacha I tried seems ok at best. You can get the S characters easily at first. Then they start adding SS characters with harder challenges unless you have them to make it easier or grind the shit out of other common characters.
Then they start adding SSR characters or whatever they call it

Sure, you can get these things without paying if you are lucky and you dont mind the extreme grind. Eventually the grind becomes too tiresome with systems upon systems, possibly because you require multiple copies of the same S/SS/SSR/SSX character to surpass some level cap or to level up their skills. And they probably have a 0,8% chance of dropping which eventually makes you spend money becase the character pool becomes huge and you need more drops to keep winning

Can this game be different? Sure, but I haven't seen a gacha that didn't go that road
This world don't give us nothing. It be our lot to suffer... and our duty to fight back.

I like the gameplay I saw on YT. It's free so imma try it. No harm in that.
    Armory Link
    Mount Collection

Everything wrong with gamers in one sentence:

The game is pretty awesome when you like anime stuff + breath of the wild.
I'm a huge fan of the humor too. Cute characters too (Paimon etc.)

Exploration done right, that's for sure.
It's one of the very, very few "open world"-ish games where I actually enjoy exploration.
    Combat is pretty dope.

I'd have prefered to drop 40-50€ on this without the gacha though.... but on the other hand, now I get to enjoy the fun parts for free. It's just that I know that there is even more fun I can't (reliably) get because the rates are so horrible, I don't feel like investing (and I'm actually a light spender in gacha-games if I enjoy them).
But if you really play long enough, you can eventually get everything because you can farm pulls. But unless they drop a lot of content (which will be free too of course) it's unlikely to not get bored before you have your favorite characters. You can only do dailies or weeklies so often before you get bored and start skipping days.

The boss fights so far seem fun too. I was actually suprised that a lvl 36 "open world boss" had ~7 different skills and patterns that actually require you to do damage and dodge stuff in a *completely* different way.
And the boss abilities looked amazing too.

that's very uncommon for gachas imho. Most gachas usually provide enough pulls for the pity-counter if you play frequently for every banner and use events. At most, you have to buy the 5€/month option. If you are fine with skipping a character-banner, you are probably fine as a F2P.

This game here however, doesn't really allow rerolling (it's horrible to do so), so you basically start "weak" (in terms of rarity).
The cool thing however, 4* weapons are powerful, and basically every character seems usable and unique.
The element and weapon and talent system will guarantee that for a while. There are "BiS-Characters"... but the other characters are fun too. Gachas normally trash you with 3/4* characters that have fewer talents or skills... or strictly worse version of a 5* character skill with a worse dmg-modifier.
This doesn't seem to be the case here, though arguably, some characters have better skills - but at least not in terms of "this character B-5* is basically character A-3* but more powerful"

For any other gacha game, I agree, but this one is a pretty amazing game by itself without the gacha feature.

Other gacha games have sub par game play and mechanics, IMO. This one is top notch in terms of game play, control, voice acting (which is pretty great), and the story is decent.

I've played for about 10-15 hours at this point and the gacha feature was brought up once, about 1-2 hours into it) and never brought up again. There isn't even a button for it on the screen reminding you about it constantly. And it's not even remotely necessary to enjoy the game, you get TONS of items to level up your gear and your characters are plenty strong without having to fish for 5 star characters.

I would have rather paid $30 for this without the gacha feature and had access to all the characters, but getting this game for free is pretty amazing. It also means that new and additional characters, events, features, etc... will be constantly added to the game to take advantage of the gacha so the company can make money. That's not necessarily a bad thing. It means there will be more game available, for less money for those who don't pay anything.

Also, all companies need to make money and care about it very much. I don't disagree with your overall mentality regarding gacha, but this one is extremely mild compared to the others I've tried, and the game itself is truly high quality. If this is how all gacha games were made, with a strong core game, with good mechanics and high quality content for free with the gacha feature being almost entirely in the background, I don't think it would be that much of a problem.

I'm guessing this is the order in which the new cities/zones will be released. It looks like Inazuma (water?) will be the next area to be released.

Ok, I just watched it again and it seems the words of each city has a specific color. Inazuma's color is purple, so I'm guessing that'll be lightning.

yet. this is just a scheme to get you hooked. give it a month or 2 and it will be riddled with p2w systems like every other gocha game has

This is common for a gacha game.
    $200 for a character.

If cost $50, then it has a rank up system.
You need to pull the same character 6 times to reach max rank.
At the end, it still costs $200 to $300.

In other words, have fun with it, then delete it off the system. (and dont waste money on it --- EVEN if you fell like you gota support it)

It's already p2w, as some characters are better than others, but that doesn't change the fact the characters given for free and the ones you can earn just by playing are enough to play through all the games content. They are counting on players becoming invested enough in the world and its characters that they will want to spend the money rather than just holding parts of the game hostage.

We'll have to wait and see. I'm skeptical as well, but I'm not doom and gloom about it yet. If it does turn into a predatory P2W gacha game, I'll be right there alongside you criticizing and damning it.

For now, just play and enjoy it for what it is now, which is a fun, well done, and high quality anime style open world RPG game just oozing with charm.

Except the game is not garbage. Say what you want about the gacha feature, because those are awful, but the core game is quite good and requires exactly zero uses of the gacha feature to enjoy and experience.

It absolutely does not feel like your typical garbage gacha mobile game.

It would be a decent game if it wasn't so anime, which is apparently a minority concern in this thread so that's on me I guess.

Gacha games are not my cup of tea, no matter the implementation. Loot boxes are already bad enough.

They'll never get outlawed because they're too profitable, but hopefully they at least get age restricted to 18+.

The game is pretty sweet,i dont have a problem with the gatcha stuff as long as it doesnt lock stuff behind paywalls, the extra characters or extreme min maxing isnt a problem in games like this, did anyone here ever min max in something like skyrim?i guarantee you that 99.99% of you didnt,as long as you can complete everything and see the content with the normal heroes you are fine, the only people i can see this affecting is the hardcore completionists, but if you are a hardcore completionist go play just cause games

  19. #39
How far can you go without pay money and without grind for resources?

Seven Deadly Sins can go very far, but all the sudden it is blocked.
However, the game play is not interesting. I don't suggest to play it.

The complain about Gacha game is under tuned first few hours.
    All the sudden, over tuned.

It's a kernel level anti cheat spyware, good luck cleaning it from your system when you delete the game.
