I have made no such excuses. You're just engaging in ad hominem, because you can't back your position up on the facts.

I was never debating that it happened or not, I'm just not going to act like every BLM protest ends with a building set on fire like you are.

BLM = violent criminals and domestic terrorism but you're the ideologue.

Saying you have no dog in the fight is an issue of self awareness, as you can see by several pages of your responses. I don’t have a dog in the Australian elections, so you won’t see me post on a topic I don’t know or care about.

Time to talk is over? that depends:

Name a city that’s burning and I will provide empirical evidence you are being lied to. If Seattle is burning, how is Amazon, Microsoft and Nintendo of America still functioning? How can Microsoft release a new gen XBox from Redmond, when across 520, the city is on fire? How can Amazon hold a prime sale day, when their campus occupying around 20% of Seattle, is on fire? Have you heard of Wallstreet, as NYC burns?
    Is it over?

No, it means your evidence does not match what people and business is doing in the areas you claim are burning. An impression not built on experience, but the source of your information.

There should be no middle ground sought on these culture war issues.

What is the middle ground between equal rights for LGBTQ and legally allowed discrimination against LGBTQ? Hint: It isn't equal rights.

What is the middle ground between a woman and her doctor determining her reproductive health plan, and the religious beliefs of unrelated other people determining her plan? Hint: it isn't bodily autonomy.

What is the middle ground between racial equality and state-sanctioned extrajudicial killing of young black men by police officers? Hint: it isn't due process under the law.

Are all persons created equal and entitled to the same rights under the law? That's pretty much the end of the debate.

I think considering the Trump super spreader in chief breakout in Washington democrats now have the cover to boycott the hearings. Let's be frank there is no upside to participating and delaying her confirmation a few hours is pointless. They can have the republicans circle jerking each other with no masks in the middle of a breakout, the attack ads practically write themselves.

Arson is considered a violent crime in some jurisdictions, in league with assault, sexual assault, robbery, and homicide.

At least it was in my state when I was in college and taking Justice & Law classes to fill out my gen eds.

Apologies for an NFL joke... but... Democrats need to call up Dan Quinn for strategy advice, then do the complete opposite.

That might be the Democrats best strategy at this point. The GOP has proven that the nominee answers don't mean anything, and they have already made up their minds. A boycott would be a show of continuity amongst the only party that cares about rules and laws.

SCOTUS nominee Barrett failed to disclose two talks she gave in 2013 hosted by two anti-abortion student groups on paperwork provided to the Senate ahead of her confirmation hearing to become the next Supreme Court justice.

And Notre Dame "lost" the Youtube video of her giving a speech on the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade. I wonder if someone else might be able to find it?

So...who else here is ready to be disappointed if/when the Dems fail to ask her about how she would handle Chevron deference?

    Disappointed? You mean expect?

What I'm getting is that the GOP is running out of time with McConnell. The man has put party above all things for years but it seems like it's kicking his ass and he is giving less and less fucks every day. Even that snake turtle can only put up with so much of Trump's and Friends shenanigans. You know he contemplates saying screw it and just retiring. A 2018/19 McConnell would have had her confirmed already with liberal outlets going 'WTF???'. Now he seems like he is going through the motions of whats expected of him because of his past but his shell just isn't in it.

Every politician has that point where they no longer care about anything political any longer. Usually comes with age, achieving x legislation, or being disillusioned by the system. I think 2020 coupled with McConnell's age has made him reach that point.

She would just respond that she isn’t his lawyer and can’t speculate.

Yup. Any conservative shitheel that comes in complaining about the dems wanting to increase the size of the SCOTUS can go fuck themselves. McConnell refused to allow votes on over 100 judges in Obama's last two years to turn around and blame Obama for all the vacancies. The GOP deserves to have the SCOTUS expanded so their little BS games can be completely stopped by a 9-6 liberal court.

Seats held artificially open so a minority party could perform a hostile take over of courts that the majority doesn't support.

You are quoting someone who said "court packing" did you not even fucking read what you're quoting??????? it's right there IN WORDS because we're all on a damn forum.

Yeah that’s my point. I would be (pleasantly) surprised if they did actually ask about Chevron, even though they would simply get the “I couldn’t possibly speculate...” It’s still one of, if not THE the most impactful precedent a 6-3 court could overturn
