Remember when people thought Wildstar was gonna kill WoW? Good times lol.
Everyone who thinks Genshin Impact is a good game is playing the game wrong. It's a waifu collecting simulator with thinly veiled gameplay elements on top. And the game sucks for collecting waifus because of the atrocious gacha rates.
Your profile picture is a big tittied demon warrior girl from a cartoony online role playing game.
No one who plays mmorpgs or whatever has any right to shit on anime fans or Genshin or whatever. I don't care for anime that much, Genshin is fun but def not for the story.
World of Warcraft: Shadowblands
Diablo Bore.
Just wait till the next "hype game" comes out and everyone forgets about genshin.

Some of you asked me to be specific on what “fun” was it that the devs have recently removed or changed not to the players liking (proven by negative feedback). To name a few:
1- legion legendary effects disabled (why not just restrict them to Legion content only, same with artifact weapon powers)
2- getting kicked out of chrome time at 50
3- the time it takes to go back to a covenant
4- rank 4 essences removed
5- adding option to disable xp gains as solution to Chromie Time kicking players out
6- AoE cap for a pure dps class (hunter)
7- Conduit Energy System (why not treat it like the standard class talent tree and let players swap at will?)
Genshin Impact is a slot machine. Its entire business model revolves around making people gamble their money away, having gambling addicts who are banned from local casinos continue their addiction through their "game". The money they make has nothing to do with the quality of the game. Comparing it to WoW is completely bonkers.
Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos was the game that brought me into gaming. I was 17 years old then, I abhorred gaming before this game. From then on, I became a fan of Warcraft and Blizzard. To see it all go down the drain like this is truly sad for me. No king rules forever but at least some of them went down in history as real badasses. I hoped Blizzard and Warcraft would be one of them but it is no longer possible.
Some people are rather hung up about the gameplay having some similarities to Breath of the Wild. Kinda as if people complained about other Hack'n'slash games being similar to Diablo.

You can't use a singular event as an example for general behaviour.
I just heard of Genshin Impact, but this reminds me of Age of Conan.
Beautiful graphics (for the time), vibrant world, super detailed quests, unique classes. Called the WoW killer by everyone, there were many threads here about how AoC would become the greatest MMO ever.
Then you stepped out of the starting zone...
Suddenly the land was barren and ugly, questgivers were scarce, the world was confusing, and you had to grind away to get to max level. Everyone quietly went back to WoW and Age of Conan has since pulled the plug.
This is to say, I have seen this time and time again. No doubt Genshin Impact has a genuine playerbase, but those that left WoW for it will come back to WoW. You just can't beat 15? 16? years worth of development and content, unless you have millions of people on your team or something. @durenas is right, WoW will be the WoW killer, if anything.
and War Hammer Online, Rift and Age of Conon... man I think Age of Conan was like the first biggest 'this is gonna kill WoW game' I remember people on this forum back in the day harping on that game :P
And Rift. Man this was back in Cataclysm, Rift came out and everyone was saying what a WoW killer it was and even got me to play the beta. The game sucked, the rifts were pretty fun but that was about it.
The only thing that's gonna kill WoW is WoW itself. the MMO market just isn't popular. WoW came around at the right place at the right time and filled an itch a lot of people wanted to scratch.

"Game vs. Game" threads don't tend to produce much in the way of constructive discussion or debate. Closing this.
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
