OT: I think my troll rouge is probably just a run of the mill assasin with a bit too much power for his own good. Got a bit megalomaniacal over the years by killing to many immortal beings. Also he thinks Vulpera taste quite good.
And then I ask “But if I’m this Hero who killed all these things then why am I standing here in a pirate camp fighting drunk pirates? And I’m not even kicking ass...”

I think of my rogue as a fast, agile and consistent sword master that is sad because he was forced into a gambling piratey life for no real reason. Since he couldn't take anymore gambling he ended up on the bio-chemical warfare business because tough boring, it nets a more consistent paycheck.

Well everyone needs a timeout with a bit of relaxation sometimes^^
    See it as a spa-day

My rogue, a KT human one, is the guy who people tend to forget.
Hes not good with magic, hes not strong, in other peoples eyes hes not really good at anything.

Except being forgotten, blending in the crowd.

And when people wonder where he was last night, he was most likely out finding treasures and solving peoples problems.
Hes kinda a typical adventurer, a thief. Robin-Hood ish

has the pre patch been released yet in eu?
success comes in the form of technical solutions to problems, not appeals to our emotional side

i always imagined my rogue like an assassin/ninja type. really mad when they forced the pirate theme.

I imagine the class type to be typically, charming, a playboy, rascal - but also light fingered or quick fingered etc

Warriors are more like soldiers and beserkers and barbarians, more heavy duty, to the lighter duty more versatile rogue. It's really harder with the larger concept classes like rogue, warrior in particular, and to a lesser extent hunter. Mage, lock, pala, priest, shaman are all very very specific classes and fields, DHs and DKs even more so.

So I'm struggling, I want to try a void elf rogue, but wondering how I can adapt their fantasy to fit any of the 3 specialisations. I'm wondering what race you play and how you imagine your rogue - do you play a spec based on a fantasy? or just the class allowing the spec to alter based on what's most effective for raids? I do intend on having other rogues, I already have 2 blood elf ones, thinking of develping a Nightborne one and now a void elf one, but struggling to fit it in.

How would you visualise a void elf rogue? Would you have a version for each spec?

Also do you choose yours entirely based on fun? and which one is the most fun for you?
An Assassin, since that's the Spec I enjoy playing most.

Honestly the new Rogue fantasys are so crazy over the top immersion breaking I can't stand it.

    I am not a shadow/void/alternate dimension ninja.
I am not a mas scientist alchemist.
I am not a stupid ass pirate.

They can't design a class or spec around what you're not, though. You have to give them a positive vision of what it is you want.

For myself, I'm perfectly happy with the subtlety and assassination spec fantasies. I'm less so with outlaw since you can make a pirate out of a duellist but you can't make a duellist out of a pirate.

I dint see what was wrong with what they were before Legion.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don’t have one, you’ll probably never need one again.

Immersion breaking? It's not like any of the stuff those specs do overstep any logical boundaries the world has.
    A witty saying proves nothing.

I have a Gnome Rogue that uses that tiger striped set and just some two pronged metal claws. Uses Outlaw and kind of has this tiny feral ankle slicer vibe. He'll climb all over you with his claws like you're a mountain to be conquered.

I'll use assassination as well kind of has the same vibe, but it's more they don't know they're dead yet but those bleeds got 'em.

But yet rogues can somehow disappear entirely from view while even standing feet in front of you? Teleport behind their enemy?
Yet they were able to brew poisons? And can somehow vanish into thin air?
Yet every pirate in the game is pretty much just a rogue..... And it's Outlaw not Pirate.

My rogue is a little gnome, slaving away as a bank char and only leveled because lockpicking scales with level.
So my fantasy? A clerk with lockpicking as a hobby.
