    Class Halls were great.
Artifacts without the stupid grind were great.
Legendaries were ok if you were lucky enough early on, otherwise garbage.
Zones were ok at best ... outside of Stormheim everything was rather meh and generic, and that was probably due to wrath nostalgia.
Dungeons were ok, nothing to write home about, but we did get M+ so hurray.
I didn't raid so can't comment on that.
World quests were ok but quickly became this enormous chore

I liked it but if I am to split it around, most of it was meh, still .. not bad.

Honestly,m+ pushed the game in a direction that I just don't like at all. Legion had a lot going for it,and it's one of the expansions where I enjoyed mythic raiding the most for sure, but everything else was tainted by the fact that if you wanted to play at the highest level, you had to do a lot of m+,regardless of your personal choice of endgame. And m+ is a kind of content I well and truly do not enjoy whatsoever.

Obviously m+ is here to stay,so while I'd say that Legion was a great expansion,it killed the game for me personally

What are you talking about? BfA is the most casino time WoW ever had. Absolutely everything is rng. I'm surprised movement is not on a chance to move in the direction you want

One of the things we're spending a lot of time on is going back and collecting tons of transmog items, as my friends are all planning to play new classes in Shadowlands (me, I'm totally stoked about playing 2hand Frost again), as well as all sorts of mount runs.

It winds up also being a good time to reflect on the game, and different parts of different expansions. Warlords of Draenor, as much as I despised the STORY (and also Garrisons, which I'll reiterate ARE NOT "Housing"), actually has a lot of cool-looking zones. Maybe not Tanaan Jungle, but I enjoyed visiting every zone again. I also have kind of a new appreciation for High Maul; it's kind of a shame we didn't get to lean even more into the Roman culture of the Ogres.

Something I was honestly a bit surprised by was just how much I REALLY love pretty much all of Legion, though. And no doubt, a lot of it is because it really FEELS like the climax of the game's story; all these different stories just kind of escalated into a crescendo where Legion honestly felt like "the final battle". And there was clearly SO MUCH LOVE put into most of the Class Halls and their stories, it's also the first expansion that really felt "immersive".

Really, the only negative I can hold against it is that Argus fell flat for me. I'd much preferred to have saved Argus for its own expansion, maybe taking the "Argus" we got, and just having made it "the nameless husk of a world already destroyed by the Legion", where we are looking for some way to open a portal to Argus itself (obviously some other story-beats would've needed changing, like Kil'jaeden not dying).

By contrast, while no one ever really appreciates whatever content happens to be current, I really don't see myself ever wanting to revisit BFA's content. Kul Tiras I think is a cool looking zone (although it does all kind of feel like "one sprawling zone" instead of being disconnected), but I never really connected with the story or what I was doing.

In a world, it feels like "filler". I was sick of "Horde vs. Alliance" before BFA anyways, and BFA didn't even seem to go all-in on that theme anyways, getting distracted by... well, other stuff. Admittedly I never cared that much about seeing Azshara, or seeing the Black Empire (I'm pretty sick of "Old Gods", too), but it all still felt kind of underwhelming to me.

I'll say, I've heard some people talk about how cool a "Black Empire expansion" could've been, and while those aren't necessarily themes I'm personally interested in, those ideas did seem a lot more interesting. Credit where credit's due, the last raid of this expansion does LOOK very cool, and it's one I actually do kind of look forward to steamrolling one day in a future expansion .

Which... maybe, BFA really fucked up on cosmetic rewards. This is the first and only expansion in the game where there isn't even a SINGLE cool-looking armor set or even weapon. Abandoning the notion of Class Armor -- even if it was made purely cosmetic unlocks -- was foolish, and I think we'll see BFA as the one expansion nobody ever runs anything from.

In any case... I've definitely gotten a better appreciation of past content over this past week (including the realization that as much as I loved it AT THE TIME, WotLK really wasn't all that when you revisit it), but Legion really felt like "everything I ever wanted from WoW", at least for the most part.

Honestly, whoever handled the overall story direction, and all of the Class Hall stuff, those folks should really be put in charge again for whatever comes next.

Anyways, that's my take on things.
    I wholeheartedly agree.

I think ap grind and the dungeons themselves(too long with too much trash and not great aesthetics) bring down Legion. dh's were a nice addition and the world itself was ok though. Completing Illidan's story was sort of nice.

Warts and all, I really did love Legion. Yes, AP and Leggys early on were a chore, 7.2 wasn't the best patch ever, Netherlight Crucible was a harbinger of BFA's Azerite nonsense, and I'm still not a massive fan of WQs.

But I found most of the rest top-notch. For all its system woes, 7.0 had one of my favorite questing zones ever, if not my favorite period in Suramar before gear and flying trivialized it. Artifacts, Class Halls and class campaigns brought more flavor than any other array of content I've seen before or since. The leveling zones weren't the best, but still good. EN was far too easy on Mythic but remained enjoyable. M+ was brand new and remains the best new feature added to WoW to this day, helped by its very fun Legion iteration even if it had issues regarding keystones early on. I main Warrior, and both Fury and Prot were incredibly fun to play as well.

7.1 was just bananas IMO, for a small patch. Return to Karazhan is one of the best dungeons ever made and I have a very fond memory of my first 4-odd hour run with guildies. Trial of Valor was a pretty decent raid with cool mogs. And then Nighthold released and is to this day one of my favorite raids of all time. One of my favorite times playing the game even with its AP-related shenanigans.

7.2 brought the Mage Tower and class mount, two great features, and made AP much better. Unfortunately Broken Shore was a pretty bad max level zone, and while ToS was fine in Heroic- it was very much not fine on Mythic. Paragon cache mounts were a low blow as well, I'm sick and tired of Stormheim today due to all the Valarjar rep I farmed for that dragon.

7.3 was quite good overall. I liked the story and cutscenes even if it really should have explained Argus better, 2/3 zones were pretty good (Mac'aree being a standout) although Antoran Wastes was pure shit, and Antorus was a great raid with a killer final set of bosses. It also made Legendaries good at long last.

All in all, I had a blast, played more than any expansion, leveled and maintained more alts than any other expansion, and would not mind playing a server set to 7.1 or 7.3. Plus Legion IMO has the best transmog library in the game and tons of cool stuff to collect.

I played more in Legion than any other expansion. Raided twice weekly which I hadn't done since like TBC, the works. It burnt me the fuck out but I really enjoyed it.

Legion introduced world quests. It is the worst expansion ever.

    Legion:

    Cons:

-0 originality except maybe the Suramar part of the story, and even that was heavily influenced by the blood elf art and lore in TBC.
-Doubled down on WoD's 'addiction metric' gameplay, also introducing lootbox mechanics in terms of weekly chests, all designed to make players addicted with no improvement to the quality of the game. First introduction of Azerite-like system to reward constant logging regardless of player skill.
-Copy pasted demons everywhere and endless green
-Ruined the fantastic aesthetic of TBC
    -Godawful music and voice acting
    -Terrible story
-PvP absolutely ruined by removal of resilience/ resilience-like system (PvP power of WoD), PvP gear became virtually useless

    Pros:

    -Mythic+ was pretty fun.
    -Raid designs were ok.

Worst expansion I have played hands down. At least BfA had unique and interesting aesthetics, music and story up until 8.2.

Legion was WoW's swan song probably.

Out of the marshes of crapdaria (China give us players plox) and the embarassment of shitlord of shitsville (how the fuck could you mess up remaking Warcraft 2 in WoW?), out came Legion: an apology, a reminder of greatness, a ray of hope.

Fantastic pre-expansion event with events and storyline.
    Beautiful, lush, varied zones.
    Incredible amount of interesting lore.
Flawless integration of class halls into the story and gameplay.
Memorable moments and characters we love.
Revamped world quest system that thankfully took the best out of Diablo 3's system and made it better.
Mostly high quality, engaging story and quests.
No mention of stupid fucking races no one asked for to pander to children, furries and weeaboos.

Due to the piece of shit attitude of players however who only care about their numbers and pixels, the quality of gameplay and writing heavily invested in this expansion was wasted and the backlash devs recevied probably depressed them, because this point they were probably asking themselves: we've given them everything we possibly could, how are these fucking brats STILL complaining?.

I will never forget Legion, it was WOTLK 2.0+ HD Enhanced Ultimate Definition Edition, and there will probably never be one like it again.

My biggest regret with Legion is not playing my alts enough, was so much fun, i miss boosting in M15s for huge gold income for little to no effort from our side, most fun was doing 3 dps and blood dk (me) boosting easy weeks, just blasting through tyrannical bosses, i miss 20% leech buff.

Dunno Legion was one of the Worst Expansion i encountered, totally drove me away at the End.

    - Endless AP grind
    - Mythic+ ("yawn" cant get any more boring)
    - Legendary RNG
    - Loot RNG
    - Perso Loot everywhere
    - Loot Boxes

Only good think i remember was the Mage Tower Challenges and even those were flawed af, seeing how easy they were for some Speccs.
Other then that, i would rank it even below WoD at this point together with Legion 2.0 BFA and i kinda doubt Shadowlands will be anything better.

After they started dumping down on Ability prunning etc Game totally lost its Charm, Clunky Gameplay, GCD everywhere, "gimmicks" gone that made some classes fun esp in World PvP or PvP in general, oh and the beloved Survival Melee Hunter or that super great Demonhunter that needed to destroy one of the fun Speccs to play in DemoLock just to get born.

Overall the Game lost more and more of its Flair, prob just me as i am not in the Boat of Number Nerds and try Hards that the Community turned into.

completely agree, demon hunters were the reason, and khara.. and special weapons.. cry

Yep, Legion and Scourge are the crux of Warcraft's cool villains. Everything else is just garbage filler.

No need to argue when you have clearly not played legion, it’s fine tho.

Legion is PEAK of RNG. How can anyone even debate this? Do people have a memory of 2 seconds?

I don't like modern WoW but Legion managed to keep me interested and subscribed throughout the entirety of the expansion.

My bad for not being clearer. I meant that what's baffling was the point the guy I quoted was making. Legion was the peak of Class Progression, fair and square, no other expansion came close. And yes, some people (raidloggers etc) didn't enjoy it due to additional "busywork" they had to do to progress, but that doesn't change the fact.

AP grind sucked massive fucking balls, class design took a nose dive from which it hasn't recovered to this day, broken shore and argus were boring-ass zones, legiondaries were probably one of the most busted fucking things (I got my first legiondary from a blingtron package while I had the wrong loot specialisation lol). At least PvP was somewhat enjoyable compared to BfA.

People only liked Legion because WoD was such a disaster in terms of content and failed systems (Garrisons say hi). Gameplay wise, I'd still take WoD (or any expansion before that) over Legion any day of the week.
