That said, yes, it makes a big difference. Because the Supreme Court can't just arbitrarily award a state to Trump. They have to actually validate or invalidate a batch of ballots. Right now, it is very unclear exactly what population of ballots the GOP wants to target. Stopping recounts is relatively easy, but Trump's legal team has to actually change the results. That is pretty hard to do.
Precisely. Saying “no, we won’t do a recount that might find you to be the victor” is distinctly different from “the votes say this one guy is the victor, but we’re going to toss enough of them strategically out and then declare this other guy the victor instead.”

In fact, it’d be, at least from a precedent standpoint, the functional exact opposite of what occurred in 2000.
Correct. It was 2 separate rulings, equal protection 7-2 (not all counties were recounting because of the hanging chads) and the remedy to the problem 5-4 (hand recount all counties would supposedly have taken to long). That's not remotely the situation we're in now.

Edit: I checked wiki, because my memory was a bit hazy on what the rulings were actually about.

Well the scary part is it's this close with Trump. Yes, we can comment on Trump voters but imagine getting someone like Trump who is competent. By competent I mean somewhat intelligent and not a moron where he can be a despot dictator, bigot, racist and support white supremacy w/o saying all the stupid crap. Staying off Twitter and not admitting in every interview that he is doing a crime.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

Someone like Tom Cotton? That man sounds like the next guy up for the GOP and he scares me.

Based on both states' recent announcements, we should see both MI and GA today.

What happens for Senate majority if both Georgia seats go into a runoff? Does the majority leader change again when that election is decided? I would assume so, but.. can't find anything on the procedures. Is the leader appointed for an entire session?

Runoffs happen before the January swearing in IIRC

Well it would be but they're being primed by their dear leader to go after anything connected to the vote.

From what I can find, the runoff is January 5th, and Congress seats January 3rd.

We Germans were pretty much the first that told you about how eerily similar Trump's administration is to the first years under Hitler, because we know a lot more about the Nazis than you do.

Could be, but i think the pissing off the libtards plays up to trumpism that I'm not sure someone not bombastically tweeting up a shitshow or daily calling into fox with wild shit would capture.
