I think it's most likely at this point that Trump will switch to trying to flip electors and steal democracy the old fashioned way, good old corruption and theft.

If Biden otherwise pulls of an electoral college victory, trump, in order to flip electors, would have to convince the then democrat-appointed electors of enough states to just vote for him instead.

I find that hard to believe he’d accomplish. Even more so if Biden secures PA while maintaining GA/NV/AZ.

Faithless electors can come from any state. WA voted for Colin Powell, instead of Hillary, so the conservative flip... even in a very blue state... is not unprecedented. Although, that was a protest vote, not one swinging to opponent.

I think the number of electors whom the democrats selected who would then plausibly ever vote for trump “for the lulz” is probably... non-existent.

Trump is so loathed by Republican politicians behind closed doors that I seriously doubt he'll get any support here.

He has no allies, thanks to his bullying style. Trump is vulnerable now and they won't hesitate to slide a knife into his back, especially as they look set to keep Senate control.

Bush had a much easier time taking the election. In 2000, it came down to a single state, and Bush led in that state. All he had to do is end any outstanding litigation and recounts, and he was President.

If Biden has all the states that he currently leads, Trump has to manage to flip two states that he trails in. If Biden takes PA as well (Which he probably will), Trump needs to flip three states through litigation. That is incredibly hard. Trump can allege voter fraud all he wants, but to flip a state he actually has to prove voter fraud in court. Even his own commission on voter fraud couldn't find any, and they had a much lower burden of proof, and were looking at lower scale.

Just blocking late arriving ballots won't help, because Biden leads all these states without late arriving ballots. He has to actually get rid of votes that have already been counted, and that is very hard.

Assuming there are even states whose laws would permit such a thing, given the SCOTUS ruling on the subject, if faithless electors were to change the outcome of the election...man...I just don't see how there wouldn't be violence.
