The next 4 years will either make or break this country we are facing the virus and a global recession if not a depression. The landscape will change there are so many things we don't know like Trump and his families fate post presidency, how the GOP will change, how progressives will change the DNC as it's a very divided party. Heck we don't even know who will control the senate because there's two run off senate races.

Four years is ten lifetimes in politics.

71 million cult members? You think everyone that supports Trump acts like he does? A lot of people just voted for him because of the economy, and then other reasons as well like rioting, and the defund the police movement. If everyone that supports Trump is a cult member then everyone that supports Biden is a rioter. See how ridiculous that sounds?

Well, while not fully Trump related, here is something that will involve his supporters.

In Wake of Election, Facebook Will Put Groups That Violate Its Community Standards on ‘Probation’

Although millions of Americans—and really, the world—breathed a sigh of relief today when it was announced that former Vice President Joe Biden had given current President Donald Trump the worst news of his life (also known as, you’re fired), election season isn’t over yet. This means that Facebook still has a lot of work to do to keep its platform from becoming a toxic swamp of misinformation.

The company apparently has a new idea to tackle this problem: group probation. According to a Saturday report in the Washington Post, if Facebook detects that groups have too many posts that violate its community standards, it will place these groups under probation, which will require administrators or moderators to approve each post manually. Facebook has confirmed the report to Gizmodo.

Trump’s Cybersecurity Agency Says It Is 'Highly Difficult' to Commit Voter Fraud, Actually

Groups affected by the temporary measure—announced on the same day Biden was declared the next president—will be under probation for 60 days, and there will be no way to appeal or override the probation. Facebook told Gizmodo although the probation period is currently scheduled to last 60 days, it would continue to evaluate the duration of the measure.

“We are temporarily requiring admins and moderators of some political and social groups in the U.S. to approve all posts, if their group has a number of Community Standards violations from members,” Facebook spokesperson Leonard Lam told Gizmodo in an emailed statement.

Lam explained that the company was implementing the measure “in order to protect people during this unprecedented time.”

A Facebook spokesperson said that the measure would give group administrators a chance to make sure all posts in their community are positive contributions consistent with the group’s culture. Facebook tells administrators and moderators that their group has been placed on probation via notification. It also lets them know what date their group will get off probation.

Administrators and moderators can still approve false or harmful posts, but it’s not a good idea. Facebook considers that administrators or moderators who approve posts that violate its community standards demonstrate that the group’s purpose may be to spread harm. A Facebook spokesperson said that when administrators or moderators repeatedly post or approve content that violates its standards, it will delete the group.

In a situation that requires Facebook to determine whether to remove a group, the spokesperson said it analyzes administrator and moderator actions. If the people in charge frequently break Facebook’s rules or approve posts from others who break its rules, the company considers those actions to be strikes against the overall group. The Facebook spokesperson said that in addition to moderator and administrator reviews, it also analyzes other factors when deciding whether to delete a group.

Facebook’s new probation measure is being implemented during a storm of misinformation and lies, much of it coming from the current inhabitant of the White House and his loyal cronies. Groups on the social media network are a ripe breeding ground for these claims, which very often spread like wildfire.

No, There Isn't a ‘Glitch’ in Michigan Election Software That Flipped Thousands of Trump Votes

This week, a Facebook group called “Stop the Steal,” which spread false claims about election fraud, gained more than 300,000 members in less than 48 hours and created hundreds of thousands of total impressions. The group organized numerous in-person protests in various parts of the country, and some comments made references to guns, per Rolling Stone. Facebook removed the group because it was organized around the “delegitimization of the election process” as well as for “worrying calls for violence.”

As with many of Facebook’s initiatives, we’ll have to wait and see whether this has any real or meaningful impact. The next two months will undoubtedly be trying times, and the most important thing we can all do is protect and respect the will of the people. It ain’t over until Biden is in the White House.

Thousands of Trump supporters duped into joining ‘Gay Communists for Socialism’ group on Facebook

A Facebook group is trying to make America gay again.

After the social media network disabled a group called “Stop the Steal” on Thursday — over its false claims that the “Democrats are scheming to disenfranchise and nullify Republican votes” — other groups quickly emerged in its place.

One of the new groups, also called “Stop the Steal,” attracted some 60,000 members who belonged to the original group, who were ready to pick up where they’d left off.

Unfortunately for the pro-Trump crowd, the second version of the group was nothing but a fake; a well-planned trick to troll MAGA voters into joining a group that symbolized some of the most despised words in the extreme-right lexicon: “Gay Communists for Socialism.”

The trick worked, and soon after the administrator changed the name of the group, a chaotic avalanche of messages by shocked Facebook users tried to make some sense of the sudden renaming.

The reactions, most of which used language not appropriate for this publication, quickly filled up the “Gay Communists for Socialism” timeline.

“What the hell! I didn’t join no gay communist group??” user Bill Harwood wrote, according to a screenshot shared on Twitter by @MrTooDamnChris, who told Rolling Stone that he had joined the group in its original incarnation “for a laugh,” and then noticed the “rebranding.”

    And laughed, he did.

Other posts shared by @MrTooDamnChris include one by Facebook user Cheryl Tucker Griffith, who accused Facebook of “illegally changed the name of this group;” one by Allison West, who wondered if the group had been hacked; and one by Cordelle Gray: “First Hey and secondly who in the hell invited me to a communist group?”

According to The Guardian, some members think that the name of the group was simply changed to avoid censorship by Facebook.

And they seem to believe that “Gay Communists for Socialism” still remain true to its original conservative mission of backing Donald Trump baseless claims that President Elect Joe Biden stole the 2020 election.

Actually...it's even worse than just an increase, because unlike some shadow of doubt in Trumps first election of there having been dumb people falling for grifting, that reason is long gone after 4 years of Trump. All 71 million are full cultists.
which is one reason I personally don't see this as a 'win'...

I'm pretty depressed to see those numbers because it tells me that we as a country haven't learned a thing.

Have you seen his fucking rallies? Trump supporters are gullible enough to go to these rallies, without a mask, even though they have family members there that have health issues. There has been over 30,000 cases of Covid and 700+ deaths confirmed from these fucking rallies.

It might have been in 2016 when he said to the country to give Trump a chance, and boy was he wrong. And that special he had at his house, or whatever it was where he went on his rant about George Floyd and bagging on people like Candace Owens was amazing.

I'm still not convinced it is. Just an elaborate practical joke on the people who would actually spend money on something so stupid.

So real that Snopes had to fact check it lol. So you weren't the only ones questioning it.

I find it funny how people who supposedly fight the profiling are all too happy to do that themselves.

Trump "cult" is same thing as Bernie "cult" - a small amount of die-hard fans. Branding 70 million people that voted Trump as a "cult" is ridiculous. People voted Trump because they don't want to "defund the police" or because they don't want economic recovery to tank or a bunch of other reasons that are not necessarily "racist" or "bigoted" or another bunch of profiling crap other side tries to brand them with.

I think it's important that some people finally recognize that reality, instead of keeping insisting that Republican voters are some hive-mind cult.

There is no war of the worlds here, a lot of Trump votes are the usual - "it's the economy, stupid" from perfectly normal rank and file voters.
