    Upgrading my "Side System"

So, I have a side system for when I'm on vacation up in canada. Ryzen 3 2200g, 16gb ram, AMD 570 GPU. I'm finding it's starting to struggle CPU-wise, and want to upgrade, mainly because I'm going to be up here longer than I expected to be, and may be using this system anywhere from 2-4 more months, when I normally am here for a couple weeks.

I'm debating between a Ryzen 3300, OR should I wait until a "5300"ish thing comes out? I don't think it would be available until next year, though. I want to spend as little as possible mainly because A) It isnt my main system, B) Stuff here is more expensive, and C) Stuff is more expensive in general right now.

What kind of stuff do you do with the system and why do you feel it's struggling CPU-wise?

EDIT: Probably dont hold your breath for the low tier Zen 3 CPUs until Q2 2021.

I'm expecting the 5300 or whatever to be out mid Q2 2021, maybe later. So if you want to upgrade, you're stuck with a Zen 2 part, at least if you want a cheap upgrade.

Either Ryzen 3600 or that 3300X.
If there's a 5300X, I'm expecting it to be similar price to 3600 as they've raised the prices a lot with the new generation.

Biggest issue right now (and its a silly one) is running Bluestacks and other games at the same time

3600 is just too damn expensive here. Nearly $250 USD after taxes. Compared to a 3100's $120 USD... and like double the performance of the 2200G. I'd be happy with that more than the price tag of the 3600, or waiting months.

I see. Look for a 1600AF or maybe a used 2600? I feel like your problem is the lack of thread count, not really the cores themselves.
