Im trying to decide between these 2, the I7 is obviously a bit cheaper but, reading some reviews it also performs better than the I9? has anyone tested that??

Yeah, the reviews have tested it.

But really, wait for Ryzen 5000 availability. It's a much better value proposition.

Ryzen 5600X + B550 motherboard is the way to go for pure gaming. If you do productivity work as well, consider a Ryzen 5900X.

I would go for Intel. They are more stable.

Well, they are more stable if you also do music producing and video editing. Most of the creative software and hardware experience perfomance issues with AMD. If you use computer just for gaming then probably it's okay. Also if you check recent benchmarks i9 10900k is slightly faster than Ryzen 9 5950X

Don't be ashamed. I have exactly the same specs and for WoW it's still more than good enough. Hell, I bought a new case for my PC years ago but could not connect the USB front panel because my Mainboard did not have a slot to connect USB3 to

I'm thinking about buying a new PC next year. Or I'll be very patient and just skip DDR4 entirely. If DDR5 is around the corner I'd hate to buy a new setup that's not really upgradeable.

Userbenchmark has a reputation of favoring intel unfairly. I wouldn't trust their benchmarks.

Some sources so you don't have to take my word for it:

    I swapped my i7 3770k & GTX970 for a 3700x & 2070s earlier in the year - I still play WoW on the same settings

    Any source for that?

Userbenchmark is complete garbage and shouldn't be used for anything, ever. It's been banned from most tech subreddits because of how crap it is.

I would go with a Ryzen 5000 if you can find one. Reviews show them as a better buy for practically everything. Even a "lowly" 5600x puts a 10900k to shame in some situations.

Besides, platform cost will probably be lower which frees some cash for a better gpu, ram, psu or whatever.

    Just my two cents.

Price equivalent should be 10600k. It's a pretty decent overclocker too, so get some decent cooling.

Performance equivalent would be an OC'd 10900k, but that's a lot more expensive

Apparently a store here in my country will get some supply on the 20, assuming i manage to grab one, would this mobo be overkill for the 5600x?

    Yeah, massively overkill.
You'll be fine on a ~120 dollar B550 board. Hell you'd be fine with a ~110 dollar b450, but they aren't getting the bios update for another couple months

Gotcha, still how long do you think a pc like that would last? i have no issues with spending 1k on my pc so long as i can play the new stuff without any issues

The 5600x should be good for a long time, some 5-ish years I think? Probably more. That is unless the CPU requirements spike, which there's a small chance they will with the new console generation coming out just now, but probably not.
How long the system overall will be good depends on your GPU though, since they tend to "age" faster than CPUs in that GPU requirements go up way faster. I can't find what GPU you're running right now, so can't make any definitive statements
