    What is spell power/attack power?

So, guys, obviously I know what it is, but there's a big doubt here. Well, if you go to WoWhead to read a skill toooltipe, you will find something like "deals 250% attack power" or "deals 250% spell power". But, where can I see my attack power/spell power?

In fact, it does no longer exist since Legion.

If you take a look at this article, you can see spell power/attack power was removed on Legion (on the bottom of the web page).

    https://www.wowhead.com/primary-seco...ld-of-warcraft

So what am I supossed to understand with those skill tooltipes?

    Just asking.

They baked attack/spell power attributes into primary stats.

    Spell power is now Intellect.
    1 SP = 1 Int

Maybe it was the friends we made along the way?
Tonight for me is a special day. I want to go outside of the house of the girl I like with a gasoline barrel and write her name on the road and set it on fire and tell her to get out too see it (is this illegal)?

I had searched that on net, but I didn't find any response.

Now I know. =) Thanks for answers!

They use AP, for instance, when they wish to de-couple the damage from weapon damage and weapon damage scaling.

So, guys, this thread came out because I had one doubt about Word of Glory. The case is, on my holy paladin, it heals 2356 p. Ok, I go to Wowhead and I see it heals for 315% spell power). But I don't have any spell power.

    What's the explanation for this?

Blizzard dumbed down the stat panel because they think we are too retarded to be able to look at more than 5 stats on the screen and dumb down to lowest common denominator. These are the same people that removed PVP vendors because "they won't be able to find the vendor".

But you do have spellpower, there just is no default display for that anymore.

I think that's the problem the OP is having. A tooltip is saying "spellpower", but his character stat panel doesn't show him the stat anymore.

    Int(Spell power)* 315% = Healing done.

As i said, they baked Spell power into Intellect.
Your Intellect IS your spell power.

Then why not just say "315% of intellect" if they are they same thing?

You can use the addon DejaCharacterstats to enable more attributes on your character sheet.

Here's the sheet on my paladin alt:

As you can see, Spell Power = Intellect.

    My WoG heals for 1458.
    421*3.15 (315%) =1326.15

That's the base healing done of my WoG, + a some extra healing done thanks to versatility.
    421*3.15 (315%) =1326.15*1.1 (+10%) =1458,76

Indeed, I needed to see my spell power on my character panel, but I did not. Now I have installed Dejacharacterstat and I kinda understand it now. =)

By the way, intellect is not equal to spell power on my paladin. There's relationship between both but it's not the same. On my pally, 155 intellect and 682 spell power.

Also I saw the GCD on my char is 1,34 s. I thought it was always 1 second on every characters, which could be reduced by haste.

By investigating Dejacharacter addon, I have just realized the spellpower on strength based specs, is related with the strength. The more strength, the more spell power. The more intellect, the same spell power.

Most classes are 1.5 sec GCD default. The quick energy classes (among others?) have a 1 sec GCD default.

EDIT: since you posted again. Ret, feral and Enh has, historically, have had their AP+SP baked into nearly all their spells. I don’t know how they work in a more modern wow, or if it leaks into Holy, nor how Monks fit into that image. I stopped caring about maths when I came back into the game in 6.2.3 (skipped MOP and WoD)

Some specs like tanks have increased attack power. so 1:1 is not correct.

Yeh, yeh, I have checked it and that's not complete correct. Intellect is not spell power.
