Anyone remember these webpages at the birth of the internet?

    or

    or even

"Birth of the Internet" might be overselling it a little. Numa Numa Guy is from 2004.

Get me something with a Geocities or Angelfire address...then we're talking.

I had my own site before any of these... we gave up the domain decades ago. But, because we were experimenting with the technology, instead of being professional. Our site was very advanced for the time, since we would implement all of the stuff we successfully figured out, even if it served no point. We had everything from reactive tables to roll over image links. But, the actual content was rambling 15 year olds and cheat sheets for all Shakespeare plays.

Fun fact, some Angelfire pages are still up, I had the pleasure of browsing through a few while searching for obscure collectors items.

Geocities, however, is sadly finally dead for good as of last year. Only broken links on barren web boards remain now.

Spacejam.com is still using HTML2 Frames. No, not iFrames, just. . . Frames.

To be fair, site still works in Chrome/IE/FF/Edge so . . . . its better made than 90% of my sites.

Had to look up when bonsai kitten popped up. Hard to believe it’s been 20 years, could have sworn that was in the mid 90s!

God the rage from that site. So many people that didn't understand it was fake.

Nice to see MAME Action Replay Page (MARP) still going strong. Going back to mid-late nineties, we had quite a community on there.

I remember that Numa Numa guy got so famous he was on some talk show.
    - "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black" - Jo Bodin, BLM supporter
    - "I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap, and I love kids jumping on my lap...” - Pedo Joe

Wow! I could almost believe that.

That's real old school HTML, and the text reminds me that e-mail spam is less of a nuisance now than expected.

However, http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/MarkUp/Tags.html is allegedly from 1991; so even though they registered the domain name on September 18th 1986 (before I had connected to the internet) I'm pretty sure they added the web-page later.
