    I agree.

I don't like it much myself.

But I certainly don't see a way out in the short term.

Having said that, America's middle class is melting away under both conservative and also under moderate policies. Climate change is so obvious that even fossil fuel companies are starting to invest in renewable energies. Black Lives Matter and Female Lives Matter issues have really come to the forefront as racist and sexist people have shown themselves for their true hateful selves. The criminal justice system of throw the book at blacks and give leniency to whites, especially wealthy whites, is already being revisited and slowly changed.

To a certain extent, it seems like the 2020 election is sort of the last gasp of white racists to control the narrative of what it means to be American. Their days are numbered, and the fact that they hitched their ride to the meme that "the virus is a hoax, don't wear masks don't social distance" will expedite their downfall. Not to mention the fact that Trump lost anyways.

But in the meantime, 74 million angry people recently voted against us. And most are still supporting Trump as he totally embarrasses the whole country. I'd like to let some of this rage subside before directly taking them on.

On a practical note, corporate America will definitely try to minimize how much federal aid goes to middle and working class Americans. But to keep the country afloat (broke people can't buy their products), what they come up with is likely to be reasonably far left anyways.

Clearly the answer is to just stop fighting because of a minor victory against fascism. Also should just ignore that neoliberalism is still in full power.

    p.s
A vote for Joe was a vote against socialism just as much.

Anything the big companies do is going to be way to slow to actually prevent anything. Admitting it exists without supporting the big changes needed to prevent climate disaster is still meaningless.

    I would go even further.

Over 70 million people voted for Trump, and they won't disappear. They protested in huge numbers in Obama's first term to prevent themselves from getting good medical care, and they'll do it again if Biden tries anything remotely socialist. They are currently making a big deal about how they refuse to wear masks and refuse to social distance despite the fact that the biggest losers of their protests are once again themselves.

I suspect that there is a HUGE list of things that I will dislike about the way things go in 2021 and 2022. But realistically there wont be a Public Option much less M4A, there won't be any kind of UBI except maybe for a VERY short term, there won't be any increases to the federal minimum wage, etc. From a foreign policy perspective it will likely be a return to Obama type activities, which really did include some unsavory stuff in Honduras as well as Libya.

The only possible successes I see for the left in the next 2 years would be fixing our voting processes so that voting is much easier for everyone, and this definitely includes highly populated urban areas. Republicans turned this election into a referendum on socialism and moving to the left, and 70 million voters gave what's left of the US left a huge defeat.

Election results matter, and basically we got creamed. 80 million people voted to remove Trump from office, and we got what we voted for. 74 million voted against socialist policies and anything leftist, and I suspect that they will get what they voted for as well. They doesn't need to go away, those 72M voters showed up for Trump. They will not show up for Ivanka Trump, Ted Cruz, Mike Pence or whoever.
Trump had a weird thing going. Trump is almost like a powerpuff girl, a perfect mix of multiply ingredients who got created by TV networks like CNN frankly.

Yeah, loan forgiveness, public option and the environment, are not things we should care about... because a tankie thinks it’s against socialism. That’s cute...

He is a crude asshole, that his supporters misinterpreted as him having guts and strength of character... instead of extremely thin skin and a billion dollar set of armor. You can hear it in their crying of Trump being the only one that cares about them, because why else would he run for President as a billionaire. At no time understanding that Trump has even tried to eminent domain middle class homes to build a mall and later to build a wall.

Rich people are not rich, because they care about someone else while they have power... Trump supporters seem to believe that there is a point of being so rich, that you intrinsically become altruistic... despite all history showing the opposite.

In your quest to bullshit without merit, are you calling student loan forgiveness, right wing? You calling a public option, right wing? How many things are you going to hand over to be owned by the right, in your quest to represent the view of the ignorant? How much are you going to bolster the scope of right wing politics, in your tankyness?

72 million? A large part of that are republicans whom would vote for a donkey if it was on the republican ticket.
    Buh Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!

They'd vote for a hot ham and dog piss sandwich if it had an (R) beside its name. They vote hard (R) regardless of who's on the ballot because that's what daddy did.

Sure, 60M or so. Bush Jr left office with such historical bad numbers and dislike yet McCain almost got 60M votes with a VP that was a outright idiot.
    McCain is the low point
    Between 60 - 62M is the avg (2012 and 2016)
73.8M is the absolute highest that the Republican candidate can muster, but now we are talking about a cult leader with a cult following and in response Democrats got 79.8M votes.

Only a Republican that's even worse human being that Trump can achieve similar results as Trump. However the moment the connection between Trump and that person will be obvious and you will have a voter turnout match again.
Also lets me emphasis the "worse" part in this case. A semi or even a decent person can not do what Trump has done.

Not gonna lie... I’d vote for a hot ham... have not had breakfast yet...

Considerable? Where are they?? what is the number? The way I see it, a horrifying about of people are cool with a racist death cult.

On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. Lol, Yeah, much like Clinton, her solution will be to cut programs like Medicare and Social Security, to the adoring applause of say you.

I dunno what Hillary Clinton has to do with anything.

You were purposefully misrepresenting Yellen's words. She's often criticized congressional GOP for their austerity policies.

Criticizing the GOP ... something you're unable to do.

But that would be like a trust fund kid criticizing their family for paying for all that college.

No, Biden already said it will be a tax cut on the top and we will have a public option. Social security is currently being defunded by Trump and Biden will not continue the defunding, as Trump promised.

Stop doing corporate bidding... just send money directly to Trump...

Hillarycare was more progressive than anything GOP or DNC put up since, while Trump is actively defunding social security. The nerve of these people...

It's all Trumpkins have now. Their leader is a one-term Impeached two-time popular vote loser who is facing a myriad of criminal charges and can only find true support in reality free safe spaces away from peer reviewed facts.

So what do they do? Bring up Hillary, of course. That and to a smaller degree Hunter will be their rallying cry for the next time Trumpkins want to vote against their own interests and send money to Trump's Mar-a-logofuckingwhocares remodel fund.

As much as I disagree with Theo on political issues, they never brought up Hillary in this thread.

They we're betting hard on accelerationism. I wonder if they remember their 2016 selves, "Supporting Trump for the lulz".

Now they're going to spend the next 4 years complaining about the adults cleaning up their mess.
