The maw is terrible, both as an intro and endgame. Don't expect that to get better.
The zones and questing are okay, but there is a LOT of forced dialogue, most of which is entirely redundant. Blizzard whiffed on the "show don't tell" aspect of visual media.

I think the lack of ground mounts is something I'm already dreading on alts. Frankly, I'd be happy just being able to skip it once you've done it once.

That said, I thought it was a pretty decent intro. Particularly as a DK, I appreciate how often I was referred to as "Deathlord", just a nice callback I wasn't expecting.

I'm in Bastion now though, and I'm already kind of ready move on. Leveling feels WAY too slow, which is weird because Blizzard JUST made the leveling process so incredibly enjoyable. Questing sucks in general, imo, and it's painfully slow.

That and travel form. They need to do a zone wide aura that just reduces speed to 100% to negate both and then the one mount has a special aura that allows its use. Yes, I have a druid and used it and both can give advantages to others who can't mount.

I mean, you could always just read the text, right? Is it really a problem?

OP just wants validation because they don't like it.

Oh well. Plenty of people do.
    Can't please everyone!

No, I wanted to share my opinion on the opening quests in the maw, nothing else. Why? Because I think they are bad, and I think they are bad because you are constantly waiting for NPCs to slowly catch up, sneak around or spam you with pages of text, it was more enjoyable as soon as I got past the intro, but I only ever made the thread about the intro.

To the person above saying I could read the text, I mean sure, I could, I could also eat the rotten fruit the strange man left in the garbage can, but I'm not going to. Not because I need to GO FAST or anything, I just leveled to 52 and called it a night, but because I find the story and writing beyond bad. I know some guys are into Dragonball uber powers well into their 40s and 50s but it's not for everyone.

people level so fast might as well just start off at 50

I didn't like the way we entered the Maw straight away. The Maw is something we are suppose to be afraid of and dread going to. Having piss easy starter quests and easy Killable mobs does not give it credit for its "a place you don't want to be" image. I remember working my way through legion zones and actually looking forward to reaching suramar and when we did, finding it a fun challenge. The maws image for me was spoiled by this shitty starter experience. I hear its a pain in the ass later on anyway

It's stupid that that's accurate. And all the exp you miss from the side quests you'll probably more than make up for if you queue for dungeons as you go.

    I'm a thread killer.

For example, while Necrotic Wake will be available the moment you depart Oribos (when you first reach the Shadowlands), you’ll have to complete the Bastion campaign and reopen the way to Maldraxxus before you can queue for the Plaguefall dungeon. You’ll then later unlock Mists of Tirna Scithe and Halls of Atonement as you complete their associated campaign"

My idea to level up was to dungeon spam as a tank or healer. Did it in BfA with no issue... Eh...

Honestly you would have been wasting your time. The campaign needs to be completed to choose a covenant. And unlock pretty much everything. And the campaign pretty much gets you to 60 almost on its own

Is it skippable after the first time?

i just lost a few braincells

I thought it was one of the better questing experiences in the history of the game. Oh well. Just shows how impossible it is to please everyone.

The only thing that bothers me is, why.wont.they.shut.the.fuck.up, jesus, this is the "cinematics and never fucking stop talking npcs" expansion

i find this kinda hard to believe..you are saying they made the voice acting in the beta...it was all done...but for live they just said...fuck it...we spent all that time and money lets just throw it all out.idk sounds like a lie but idk,i didnt play beta

personaly i rly liked this expansion intro,it didnt feel tedious at all, wod's intro felt more tedious and bfa wile it was fast i just didnt like it,the maw intro felt fine, and bastion is among the best zones they have ever done, and that music feels nostalgic somehow, ofc i am expecting arden to be just as good

I don’t like how I feel locked on a rail with the new expansion experience.

I feel like all there is to do is the linear questing to 60 and nothing new to try outside of that.

I will say the questing is a big step up from BFA with all the voice acting and scripted experience all the way through. Even the quests feel less formulaic, so props on that.

But, no new features, class, bgs, nothing.

Dungeons even feel pointless and too easy...

Sorry, but I’ve been there for all the games launches and this one is by far the most underwhelming.

looky there m8s that there is what we like to call in the wild an "opinion"

i liked the maw intro and the cutscenes were awesome

well levelling is always shit and a time waster but this time its even worse. more standing around, alt tabbed waiting for some npc i dont care about babble on for stuff i dont care about for minutes. and if there is a guy that needs to be escorted, in true wow fashion rp walks, stops should you walk 10 yard further than him and than yells at you for doing 'we need to move, lets go'

also havent they learned with the mandatory shattrath tour 13 years ago that took ages that nobody liked this?

I would like to refer you to the unchanged title of my thread: The leveling experience intro is terribly bad in my opinion

As you can see it has that word you were looking for right there at the end.

The most stupid part for me was when the cow talked about the maw "rivaling the legion in numbers, and growing" while we watched like 35 NPCs standing around like bellends. Such might, much force.
