It's Shit
It's lit
so far leveling was more the dissapointing experience
cant say baout endgame as im only 58 now due to not being able to log in like normal person to server only having to play in middle of the night :P (Draenor - EU ftw ! )
would be probably 59 if not server maitnance -_-
Disclaimer: i didnt read ANY of the posts here except the OP so if this has all been said, sorry. Yes, imo Shadowlands is a fantastic expansion. Is it perfect? no. Will it bring people back? it should. i had a BLAST going through my main's linear leveling experience and they made it so you can differ your leveling choices on alts once you play the main storyline thru on your chosen main character, so I look forward to trying something different on a few alts. give it a go
Too early to really tell but I'm liking what i have seen so far. Also big plus is that it was smoothest launch in history of WoW. No big nuisances except maybe bit too few flight paths.
Questing about as good as any other expansion, WoD is still bis for that aspect imo.
Launch content so far is somewhat like legion minus AP grind. Which is good for imo. So far I am enjoying this more than BfA launch.
Love ALL of the zone storylines
Blizzard always does well with zone storylines IMO
Do you like endless escort quests where you can't run too far ahead of the npc who walks at snail's pace bombarding you with walls of text of backstory? If so, you'll enjoy it.
Someone at Blizz was nostalgic towards "Khadgar's servant showing you Shattrath" quest back in TBC, so they decided to create multiple of those.
You think this site is some kind of hive mind for assholes? Not to reflect but then why do you come here? In fact there are many different kinds of people posting, and some are more worth listening to than others. Spend enough time here and you form opinions on who is who; I'm surprised you haven't figured that out after all this time.
I don't think I'm in danger of falling down a slippery slope where I forever wait for the next expansion. I'll check in with WoW from time to time, like an old friend, see how she's doing and if we should keep hanging out. Unless she can get off the smack though, I think tough love is for the best.
I am almost two levels in and so far it is .. alright? Not a fan of leveling on rails, rather be more, pick your zone and go.
I'd say it was okay to decent - before I had to make the stupid covenant choice.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.
Leveling was great, but at 60 I'm struggling to enjoy the game. Word quests seem to be more annoying than ever before with additional objectives in the depths of the quest area popping as you complete the quest (eg. You have to collect 10 shards that aren't 100% drop, then you have to go to a crypt that has enough mobs you could've probably gotten your 10 shards right there and then you have to enter a postal to kill named mob, or the night watch quest in arwenweald where you follow around bunch of npcs to kill waves of enemies, all while other players are bringing elites from adjacent area you have to run through to get there and the npcs obviously aggro the elites, but killing those doesn't give you completion %). This, coupled with not having any gear just doesn't spell fun for me. And the travel times are way up there too. Flying from one zone to another takes 6 minutes...
I’m only 56 and can’t say I’m enjoying it much. The first 2/3 of Bastion were just annoying, the characters were annoying, and it didn’t have anything to really get attached to or make you care. The last parts improved but still weren’t great. Especially when I sympathised so much with the “bad guys”. And that’s supposed to be the high heavens? Being told to “go in service” constantly? And the main problem being they’re running out of guys and here I am, a Demonology Warlock literally laughing to myself as I summon more guys. And I was going to pick these guys for a nice aesthetic?
Maldraxxus isn’t much better either. The highlight was meeting an old adversary but after the initial interaction there was absolutely no building on it.
Again there’s nothing here to really make me care either because it’s so heavily railroaded and yet entirely disjointed.
And then I’m constantly haunted by this nagging feeling that none of it even matters. Everything and everyone is dead. What is killing them again going to do? Send them to the Maw? Aren’t I supposed to be preventing that?
It just fundamentally doesn’t make any sense and it’s trying too hard to introduce a game system that it forgot to add an actual story arc.
Then there’s the game system. As a Warlock I get a long cooldown, long cast abilities that simply don’t feel an organic addition to the rotation, indeed as Demo it actually feels like a detriment to my resource management. They just don’t feel right.
It’s feeling like the mistakes of making Garrisons the game in WoD are being repeated with Covenants, as even now they just feel overbearing.

I've only done the introductory stuff which is essentially 50-51. I'd say that 1 level was better than the entirety of BFA tbh.
My only negative thought so far is the shear number of max level people already. It went live 11pm here and by 2/3 the next day my /who 60 was full

There are people on here who seem well adjusted, but you've got to admit they're in the minority.
Sometimes I go to MMO champion just to see how long it takes to find a completely unhinged take - it never takes more than 10 or 20 seconds to do that. I don't really know of anywhere else where you can so consistently find posters who have completely lost their fucking minds.
Just saying. There's a lot of people on here who spend an unhealthy amount of time trying to find new and interesting things to hate.
Until 60 everything was nice. World quests and maw activities are just pain.
It's solid if you can get past Bastion. Most players just power through without looking back. Endgame is a different story entirely to what we're used to from past expansions though. It'll be interesting to see how that goes over when more make it there.
If you knew the candle was fire then the meal was cooked a long time ago.
