Really, the only examples we did have were the two Bushes. And George W.'s been speaking up, so really just his dad at this point. It was always more of a personal choice than any kind of unwritten policy.

is the weirdest way to rationalize a loss I've seen in a while.

Especially when if he can't win with the actual huge incumbancy advantage being a sitting president gives you his chance to win in 4 years is very very low. He only barely managed to overcome hillary who was uniquely disliked by a large portion of the country to get his first term. I think him raving on for another 4 years if anything may help energize democrats while kinda paralysizing the GOP as they can't move forward easily with him tossing bombs at them.

I would assume Trump will open his "Shadow Presidency" by criticizing any attempt by Biden to send our boys over to Iran to fight some kind of police action. Maybe asking people who wanted Biden in if they are signing up for military service to fight Biden's wars, or maybe getting their kids to sign up.
