Doubt it will get anywhere in this session, but I genuinely hope they re-introduce this Amendment in the next session with Biden as president. Slavery in all forms should be Constitutionally illegal, and we need to finish what was started at the end of the Civil War.

There has been no justice in the US that hasn't come from the federal government putting heavy pressure on local governments to get their shit together. Systemic changes starts at the head.

The argument, "well we wait for change to happen at the local level) is how minorities were heavily ostracized throughout the country for more than 100 years after the Civil War despite there being federal laws against the injustices that were going on. Injustices such as not being allowed access to polls or proper education. You think the party that minorities latched onto after some of those wrongs made right would preach the history. That sometimes, most times, justice won't be served unless it comes from the top. A black, brown, whatever US citizens shouldn't have to be weary of law enforcement in certain parts of the country, it's the duty federal oversight to ensure all local authorities adhere to particular standards. If not you get cesspools of bad cops like Minnesota, South Bend, LA, NYC where they ignore federal standards for their own brands of 'justice'.

People love to trade justice for peace when it's not their justice that's on the line.

I don't get why people just won't admit that Biden isn't going to get much done in certain areas. He already won so there's no longer a reason to lie or oversell him. He himself does even sell himself as some or great reformer. So why are people taken offense to saying Biden isn't doing to much if anything in regards to police reform?

I think we need to hold Biden’s feet to the fire, but when he does something. Doing it preemptively is just silly... like Theo ending up with 68 posts in a Biden thread, before he takes office and 11 in the entire 4 years of Trump in his thread. We won’t get what we need, if we don’t challenge people in power... Biden is simply not in power... yet...

You are incorrect about this issue and your evaluation of Biden's behavior. You admit to not knowing enough information to make any kind of judgment on Biden's actions. Unwanted kissing is absolutely sexual assault, but Biden's actions do not constitute even a whisper of an issue, given what we know right now.

The reason using shady advisers and staff is bad, is because it leads to actions that are shady. The fact that Citibank or even satan xyr self were Obama advisers is completely irrelevant, when during his entire 8 years, those shady actions would be the problem. If nothing illicit happened in those 8 years, why exactly are his advisors problematic?

As an example, Tellison was a problem because Trump campaigned on ‘bomb the shit out of them and give their oil to Exxon’, then proceeded to kneel to SA to the toon of 2000 US soldiers protecting their oil. Flynn was a problematic defense advisor, not because of his history, but the fact that his payments from Turkey seemed to influence Trump’s handing over Kurds to Turkey for slaughter.

Both of those were problematic hires, because of the outcome of their hires... not because of someone problematic recommending them in the past.
