I would say the bent legs and possibly the hoof-shaped feet comes down to him using the male Draenei skeleton.

In general you're asking questions that are almost certainly going to be explained as part of the Covenant campaign / the expansion itself. This is a very lore-heavy xpac, you can't cram in all the answers immediately.

Not likely in a straight connection, you'd have to rebound over Arthas. Arthas might have created them based on what he saw of Revendreth, though.
