Like I kept saying for 4 years, this isn’t GOP. You can’t react or negotiate with Trumpism, the same way that you did with Republicans. The GOP vs DNC arguments usually lie with pretty clear distinctions, where there is a give and take. As much as folks might not see it now, GOP has policy and convictions you can appeal to.

That doesn’t exist with Trump... he tried to be a liberal to the extent of selecting Oprah as a wishful running mate, which resulted in him being pissed at elites not accepting him. Post 9/11 he starts his war drums, demanding retribution from Muslims, now suddenly this coastal elite is a GOP darling. Suddenly, instead of just being money bags for democrats and getting no power, he is treated like god by the right wing.

There is nothing to compromise or see common ground with Trump supporters, because the entire basis for Trump presidency was to garner popularity. It’s wasn’t ideology... there is no ideology in pardoning your friends and lawsuits for no reason, other than the unbelievable occurrence of Trump losing. So... how do you convince NK loyalist, that Kim didn’t dunk on Denis Rodman or is the best golfer? They only watch state ran media and have been indoctrinated for more than 12 years...

America is facing the same issue now, that every country that went through an authoritarian regime faced, when it didn’t turn into violence. Why doesn’t Rudy ever present these videos or evidence, under oath? I know that all of them signed affidavits that they will testify under oath, saying all this. But, you don’t risk jail for lying, until you make the promised statement under oath.

I don’t understand why GOP got to change these rules last second, but are now arguing that votes need to be tossed out, because if the last minute change? Yeah, everyone knows that if PA and GA counted absentee ballots before the election, like every other state, there would be no “unbelievable” Biden bump. That’s great... I’m pointing out that compromising doesn’t work. That selecting Biden, because he can win Florida, was a mistake. That the idea of flipping Trump voters, was a mistake. Biden won because of the volume of voters, not the success of appealing to conservatives. Trump gained votes, not lost votes, despite Biden clearly being a choice to appeal to them... are you really going to tell me that Biden winning Florida, wasn’t a talking point?

If you don’t understand the beast, how will you deal with it? More compromising, creating a pathway to the right?

Being honest I wouldn't have picked Biden to be President pretty much ever minus the fact he was running against the worst President in my lifetime, likely forever, and so I am willing to deal with it. The good news with him is the worse that will happen is mostly northing when it comes to government governing (outside of some external threat). The best thing is a little happens. Sure, we all want to see some big changes but it won't ever happen until compromise isn't see as failure and that is where our society stands right now. Sadly I think it will take a major collapse to the point of Senators starting to go hungry for them to realize giving up an inch here or there is ok to get that belly full and we are a good little ways away from that.
