The Texans hired a firm to help them with their GM search, and hired someone else. What is even the point of that if you knew who you wanted to begin with?

Watch the Texans hire McDaniels next.

"Easterby will not choose the GM."

They proceed to ignore their search firm and hire Easterby's guy.

What a joke of a franchise.

I don't get it. Patriots haven't drafted well in a long time. Watson's career is gonna be wasted by perpetual rebuilds.

I mean at the end of the day what it is is a new owner who's fallen in love with a "Culture Guy" and thinks he's got the ideas to turn the franchise around. You just have to hope this either magically works, or they wise up to it before Watson decides he wants out.

I can't believe anyone gives a shit about anything that happened in the NFC East this week. I had a brief hallucination where, 30 years after SB 25, we met the Giants in the Super Bowl again and redeemed "Wide Right," but then I realized how insane I had to be to think the winner of the NFC East surviving past wild card weekend would be.

Manning and Woodson should be absolute locks, after that it gets debatable.

Personally I think Clay Matthews should be given the nod out of the remaining but to me the HoF is dead until they correct their error of snubbing Flores. They've a chance to get it right again this year.
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.

Whitworth is off IR and ready to start for the Rams at LT, arguably a more important return for their offense than Goff.

The Watson drama is getting spicy. Apparently he was to be involved with the GM and HC search (which I disagree with any player being involved with that sorta stuff, but thats another conversation), Texans don't even interview the guy Watson wants, and then shocked pikachu face when hes mad about it.

He has a reasonable cap hit in 2021 of only $10.5m

Reasonable hit but you have to imagine the Texans will want more than a king's ransom for Watson. I think the bidding starts at two firsts. You don't just hand away a franchise QB.

Hopefully not to the 9ers either.

Eh as much heartbreak as the Kaepernick-era 9ers gave me, I'd be fine with him going there.

Now to the Patriots on the other hand....

Mike Nolan is, to the surprise of nobody, fired in Dallas.

Now the only question is which team will be dumb enough to pick him up. My money is on the Jets. He would be an excellent replacement for Gregg Williams.

This would be the upset of the decade if WFT pulled it off.

We're pretty early in the decade so why not?

I feel like you both missed the Bears over Saints prediction as well, which is arguably a bigger upset.

This is about where all my picks are for the weekend. I’m still waffling on the Bears game, but I might wait and live bet it. The Saints should crush them, but I have this weird suspicion it’s going to be close.

I’ve got money on the Bills, but I’m fully expecting the Colts to give them a game. An upset wouldn’t shock me.
