Trump and his supporters went to bed on his election night thinking he had won; I don’t wish to be as foolish as them.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I don't think it's over, and I think that the race between Ossoff and Perdue will be tighter than anyone really wants.

But like, it's crazy that Georgia is this close.

He could go past his current term, which for reminder to all, he just won. 7th term now, 8th very likely, 9th outside possibility. That would put him as the longest service Senator in the History of the United States - if he served the full length of that 9th term.

It seems the right's tactic of just screaming "SOCIALIST" over and over in their political ads is finally failing them. Both Republicans had very uninspired campaigns, not speaking to the people voting for them, not telling them how they could make their lives better, not speaking about their lost loved ones from covid, nor anything else. As a Georgian, the constant bombardments of political ads have been very thoughtful ones from the Democrats, and the Republicans screaming "SOCIALIST AGENDA" over and over. I hope I can see the day where just screaming socialist is something not only avoided but mocked.

The Democrats now appear favored to prevail in both of their Senate races in Georgia, and therefore are the favorites to take control of the U.S. Senate. The two Republican candidates hold small leads in the vote count, and still have a chance to hold onto those advantages, but most of the remaining vote is in Democratic-leaning areas. .

The largest block of remaining ballots is the in-person vote in DeKalb County, a heavily Democratic area that includes part of Atlanta. Those votes alone could break for the Democrats by 120,000 ballots. Over all, the two Democratic candidates are favored to win the remaining vote by around nine percentage points, according to Upshot estimates.

With about 15 percent of the vote left to count, the Rev. Raphael Warnock’s projected lead over Senator Kelly Loeffler is larger than Jon Ossoff’s projected lead over David Perdue. It’s hard to say when either race will be called. The Ossoff-Perdue call might have to wait until late absentee and provisional ballots are counted.
