Honestly, I would go with most failed president as that is all he did, fail. He failed at getting the wall built, he failed at stopping illegal immigration, he failed at controlling COVID, he failed at multiple marriages, failed at getting healthcare passed, etc.

So I went looking for lists of Presidents ranked in order, that took place in the year 2019 to take COVID off the radar. In other words, I was giving Trump a yuge handicap, which I imagine is what golfing with him is like.

Some places refused to rank Trump as he hadn't completed his first term yet.

The Siena College Research Institute is not so lenient, waiting only a year. And they're a big enough name to be cited by major sources. In 2018 they put Trump third worst in history, behind only Andrew Johnson and Buchanan. And before people shrill "RIGGED" into their deleted Twitter channel, the top five were Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, and both Roosevalts. Obama wasn't in the top 10.

The Presidential Greatness Survey is done with the help of 179 expert historians and apparently run by Cambridge University. And in 2018 Trump came in dead last. And again, before people shrill "RIGGED" into their wire taped microwave, their top five was also Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, and both Roosevelts. But at least Obama was in 8th.

Again, both of these were done before COVID was welcomed into the country with open arms and tiny hands. This was also before NK talks fell apart; Trump blackmailed Ukraine, got caught, got impeached, then used that info against a political opponent; attacked democracy directly by refusing to accept the results of a legal and honest election, plus the hilarity of his lawyers introducing conspiracy theories under oath; and the lineup of pardons for his friends and, in true swamp dweller fashion, himself.

If you want something more recent, Northwestern University "only" used 113 experts and "only" since WWII. Also their focus was mostly on diversity. They asked their experts to rate the 14 "modern" Presidents by a 0-100 scale. Trump came in dead last with an 11. Nixon and W both tripled up on Trump. Obama got a 77.

Do not expect Trump's position to get any better on any of these lists. Even halfway through his only term, qualified professional experts said he was one of the worst, if not the worst, the country has ever had.

Teddy Roosevelt is far and away my favorite president. I have said this before on this forum but if Teddy Roosevelt was brought back to life I am almost positive he would roll up his sleeves and spend the next couple of days working his way through Congress kicking the ever loving crap out of every Republican there until he made it to the White House to personally kick fat ass Donny out of the White House.
