    Its a bug in the Geforce driver using DX12 with WoW that Nvidia can't seem to fix. Its been in their drivers since like November last year.

    Only fix if you don't wanna swap to DX11 is to downgrade to 457.51 (I'm running that version until fixed)
    You can download it here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/167108/

    And yes the bug is mentioned in their release notes:
    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce...ack-thread-re/

    "Open Issues:
    [World of Warcraft: Shadowlands]: Random flicker may occur in certain locations in the game [3206341]"

    Welcome to shitty nVidia drivers. There are two solutions: Use DX11 or see if you can find an older version of nVidia drivers. Both solutions kind of suck so I just deal with it.

    Yes, its the new nvidia drivers.
    Either roll back to an older version or try turning shadow quality to low, this solves the issue in most cases.
    Blizzard already knows about the problem and is contact with nvidia regarding a solution in either a future wow or nvidia patch.

    source: official thread that I checked yesterday on the us forums, but I am on my phone now and can not link directly.

    Downgrading is never optimal. But in this case its only option if you cant swap to DX11
    Not much have happened since november when this "older" working driver is from. Mostly fixes for newer games:

    Had same problem too with 2080Ti and DX12. Changing to DX11 solved this.

    You can use DX12 and new drivers, just turn off shadows - not a solution but to me it works best.

    Suppose it also depends on the gpu used. Was worth trying anyway.

    Set your videocard to your card instead of auto.
    Fixed it for me (3080).

    Just drops fps like 25%, so not really an option unfortunately

    I have solved this on my system using https: // w w w.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/hpclhu/nvidiaflickering_fix_for_directx_12/ (cant post links yet)

    The problem seems to be a compatibility flag that is missing on the latest nvidia drivers.

    Basically, save the following in a .nip file and import through nvidiaProfileInspector:
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
    <ArrayOfProfile>
      <Profile>
        <ProfileName>World Of Warcraft - Retail</ProfileName>
        <Executeables>
          <string>_retail_/wow.exe</string>
          <string>_retail_/wowt.exe</string>
          <string>_retail_/wow-64.exe</string>
          <string>_retail_/wow64.exe</string>
          <string>_retail_/wowb-64.exe</string>
          <string>_retail_/wowb.exe</string>
        </Executeables>
        <Settings>
          <ProfileSetting>
            <SettingID>7168407</SettingID>
            <SettingValue>2729785185</SettingValue>
          </ProfileSetting>
        </Settings>
      </Profile>
    </ArrayOfProfile>
    The setting will appear in the Unknown section at the bottom, with a gray cog icon.

    Pet battles must look awesome. Has OP downgraded drivers? This thread was pretty much finished at 2nd post.

    Ohhh I am gonna try this when I get home.

    This flickering happens on DX12 with ray-tracing enabled. Maybe this will fix it.
