We're gonna face the Jailer as the last boss of the expansion
We're gonna face the Jailer as the last boss of the expansion
We've been killing gods since Vanilla so what's the issue? There's plenty to explore so we're not going to run out of powerful opponents.
once we run out of gods to kill we'll move on to the super gods, and then the ultra super gods, and then the super ultra mega extreme gods.
just look at the last few years.
old gods not scary anymore? void lords.
pantheon/sargeras not scary anymore? pantheon of death/jailer/first ones suddenly appear.
half expecting we'll end up in the super shadowlands before the expansion is over.

Wow is a sort of soap opera, and just like soap operas then WoW will never run out of villains and heroes.
And if we should run of villains then you can always resurrect an old one, just as soap operas do.
WoW is a wonderful game, but the story should be taken as seriously as a good soap opera.
As long as wow makes Blizz money, like they say there will always be lich king, or (lich)x2 king.....(lich)xn king.
That's why "the first ones" were introduced now that we got rid of the Titans and are fighting for/with the pantheon of death.
I think we'll probably end up going to other planets like in SWTOR in future expansions. There's only soo much you can explore on Azeroth right?
I don't play WoW anymore smh.
There's always a bigger fish. Maybe even big space fish, bigger than gods. You can always go bigger.
Well see here's the thing: Sargeras wasn't killed. They potentially don't kill Zovall or Sylvanas either as... well, Revendreth is a thing. We beat Helya twice and she's still back!
There's "killing" and there's "shelving until later." Hell ARTHAS is back on the board! One of the main themes of shadowlands is that death is a "new beginning." They've literally canonized "no one's dead unless you see the corpse, and stay staring at it!"
So it's fine. It's a cycle. One they can turn as long as they want!
They introduced new gods this expansion, and there's nothing stopping them from doing so again in a later expansion.
Worked for the Klingons and it'll work for us!

Every time there is a bigger and bigger baddie behind each one we take down with a 20 man group As long as there are 20 people who will do the raids the writers will continue to come up with new entities and gods, Does it all feel samey and meaningless? Yes, does it stop us from getting loot? no
Don't need to keep going up either.
They've already shown this multiple times, we went from killing Deathwing to Garrosh the next expansion.
BfA also had an entire raid that wasn't filled with "gods".
A threat doesn't need to be god level all the time, and Blizzard does realize that since we just had an entire story about mortal threats in BfA.

No. The Jailer proves Blizzard will just retcon existing lore to create a new god for us to kill.
