Is Arugal still in the Shadowlands?

"After he was defeated, his soul traveled to the Shadowlands. During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, the death knights of the Ebon Blade venture into the Shadowlands to collect the essence of darkness from his soul."

Btw, when Alpha Prime/Ralaar Fangfire died, did his spirit go to the Ardenweald as he was summoned directly from the Emeral Dream by Arugal?

Maybe someone will find his Sinstone in Revendreth eventually if blizzard added it.

Well, Arugal would be in Ravendreth somewhere I guess. Fangfire would most likely go Ardenweald.

Oh, indeed, we're not seeing everything. I mean, if you go to the edge of Ardenweald, you can spot trees further down.

It's already established that there are many afterlives/realms of the shadowlands. We have seen only 4 + the maw. If we cover the main power types out there, we can match some of them to their respective realms:

    - Holy: Bastion
    - Nature: Ardenweald
    - Unholy-Shadow: Maldraxxus
    - Blood-Shadow: Revendreth

    We are missing the following:
    - 'Normal' Shadow
    - Chaos
    - Fire
    - Frost

What's more, some of the existing realms seem to have souls of specific alignment:
    - Bastion: Lawful Good, Neutral Good, Lawful Neutral
    - Maldraxxus: Chaotic Good, Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Evil
    - Revendreth: Chaotic Evil, Neutral Evil

Ardenweald doesn't seem to fit into of those specifics, so I suppose Neutral would be theirs.

In any case, Arugal may not have gone to any of the realms we currently know about in game. Chances are there is a realm for the traditional shamanistic types (as they coax the elements to assist them, unlike traditional druids which assist nature in a more equal balance). Likewise, there is likely a realm for those dealing exclusively with Shadow, those that deal exclusively with fire or frost, and a realm where those who deal with chaos would most likely be sent.

For all we know, the Arbiter is not the only being that handles sending souls where they rightfully belong. There could be multiple Oribos-like hubs, each handling a different set of realms, but never knowing about each other (or if they do, they do not allow any other being to know about those other realm hubs).

I don't think it works like that - there's an afterlife for engineers and crafters.

Second, Bastion is not Holy - it is Light-like but it's all still death magic. So is Ardenweald, life-like but still 100% death.

A more interesting question would be how could DKs ever "venture into the Shadowlands"? The only way to get there is by, well, dying (for good, not undeath), and now through the rift above ICC, which isn't only completely exceptional, but also didn't exist at all at the time the article refers to.

The realm that recently dead players exist in on Azeroth is still part of the Shadowlands, it just so happens that there are other areas of the Shadowlands we were previously unaware of (e.g. the Covenant realms introduced in Shadowlands as well as Oribos). There are beings who die and dwell in these strange areas for some time, like Liches who are bound to their phylacteries.
"We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see." ― Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
