it will be most likely a MP game of sorts to encourage buying stuff out of jealousy - you won't have that with SP games. clash of clans in a warcraft skin?
or even something bigger like a battle royale *shrugs*

Whole wow community is so fractioned that appealing to the "MMO lovers" is impossible. Also look at some guys here - "you develop a game for a different platform? - UNSUB!", which they won't do ofc. but still, trying to appeal to such players sounds more like a relationship with abusive and envious partner rather than working with fans.
So, being a gamer all my life that plays several MMO's as well as some other types of games including quite a few mobile games that I like when taking a break during a walk or when traveling by train, I am looking forward to a Warcraft inspired mobile game. Should be great fun.
Nice! Immortal and now this. Just a shame one is at least 1 year and the other 3 years away from launch. How long does it take to make a mobile game!?
Inc Smash Bros game for WoW :>
Not interested in a mobile game at all. But is that guy allowed to say what he said?
haha, what - Surely he just lost his job now. Never seen such a leak before.
Battle pets I bet
What, they killed Starcraft and HotS but have no qualms about wasting budget on another mobile fiasco?
You all have phones right?!
It's cringe, I admit. And this is coming from someone who plays multiple mobile gachas.
If a mobile game is profitable it doesn't divert net assets from WoW, it just expands the business. There isn't some fixed size pool of developers they have to allocate to the projects. They can hire, or fire, as necessary.
WoW's problems are internal to WoW, and to its relationship to the evolving market. At worst, development of mobile games is a symptom of those problems, not a cause.
"There is a pervasive myth that making content hard will induce players to rise to the occasion. We find the opposite. " -- Ghostcrawler
"The bit about hardcore players not always caring about the long term interests of the game is spot on." -- Ghostcrawler
"Do you want a game with no casuals so about 500 players?"
Wow, can't wait to play a crap version of Warcraft on a 4 inch screen that takes too long to load, drains batteries despite being a potato era game, and keeps making you target the wrong stuff with your sausage fingers.
They mainly went apeshit over Immortal because people were expecting and wanting Diablo 4 and they just basically got like a Diablo 3 but on your phone instead. Wow has been on a constant 2ish year expansion cycle. They know it's coming and what they'll get when it comes, there's no secrets there.
