How to easily improve LFG and make M+ less horrific to pug

    New feature:

You enter the LFG interface. You list the dungeons that you want to run along with their levels. For example, all SL dungeons at keystone levels 14, 15 and 16. Anyone making a group that fits those criteria can instantly see all people that potentially want to run that key and can invite them.

Easy peazy. You no longer need to manually apply and reapply for hours. Just list your preferences, hit up LFG and wait until you get invited.

How is this gonna make it less horrific to pug? Its easier to get your name listed this way but thats gonna make the meta even worse. Instead of picking between 25 different dps and picking the mage/moonkin/hunter with a high io and ilvl and maybe settling for a slightly "worse " option, im now picking the mage/moonkin/hunter with 1600 rio and 225 ilvl.

Oh, so it'll be even easier to find all the meta picks and ignore the non-meta ones, cool!

We had this feature back in MoP, worked quite nicely for world bosses.

I don't think it would improve players chances to get picked for M+ though, rather the opposite since it would make picking meta chars much easier.

best way imo to make m+ less horiffic to pug is just to get rid of mdi no mdi no "meta" comp no "meta" comp means better m+ experience for lots more

And have clueless/hopeless people waste my time? No thanks. Premade Finder is fine as is, people aren't obligated to waste their keys.

Who is stopping the nonmeta spec players to create their own nonmeta groups? To have their "better experience".

Raider Io is part of the problem.

they aren't having a "better experience" tho since they are waiting much longer to get a key done than the mega classes even if they do make their own keys

Quite sure there are even more nonmeta spec players out there than the ones playing Fire Mage, Boomkin and MMHunter. So I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

im trying to say its way slower to find/create a m+ grp for non meta specs than meta specs

i both agree and disagree with this,

on one hand its keeping some people out of certain m+ levels but on the other hand many people dont want inexperienced players ruining their 13-16 keys and if rio was removed how would you assess the competency of a player thats signing for your key?

  12. #12
nah - removal or toxic raider.io would instantly improve lfg experience.

Amm, that's not how it works MDI uses meta, but does not dictate it. Class balance/dungeon quirks dictate meta. Might as well get rid of DPS meters/target dummies and warcraft logs and still people would find the meta out anyways.

Can you explain why you think that the bigger player base takes longer to create groups than the tiny meta player base?

because apparently "everyone" wants to have as much of their meta comp as possible in their grp

?????? Quoting myself here it's getting kinda stupid.

"Who is stopping the nonmeta spec players to create their own nonmeta groups? To have their "better experience"."

    And you answered with:

"They still have to wait for meta specs, so it's not a better experience."

    ????????????

Might as well remove ilvl too and then complain that no one is pugging anymore because no one would risk inviting a pleb to a +20 just because he thinks he is good enough.

People do use it and if MDI/RIO or whatever else is "elitist and toxic" logs would be the next thing to use as a filter.

And then people will still just follow metas that are posted on sites like r.io or following streamers comps.

It'd just make it take longer. If there's no raider.io people will revert to an alternative/searching people on the armoury, & rightly so. Why risk time & effort just because the guy who's timed a few 9s & 10s thinks he's good enough for 15s?
