it still should not be a thing these politicians get comfortable doing nothing for the people and they shouldn't be allowed to become millionaires off the backs of people they dont helk
Well then get your shit together.
Get it all together. And put it in a backpack. All your shit. So it’s together. And if you gotta take it somewhere, take it somewhere, you know, take it to the shit store and sell it, or put it in a shit museum, I don’t care what you do, you just gotta get it together.
    Get your shit together

They do that because the voters want them to do that. If a majority of the voters wanted non-corrupt politicians, they would aggressively vote out ones caught being corrupt. The idea that 'all politicians are corrupt' is something that is pushed explicitly by corrupt politicians in order to discourage people from actually doing anything about it.

Term limits is not going to fix that, no politician becomes a millionaire just off the wages.

A US senator can be a millionaire off their wage after one term.

A Singaporean politician can earn 1M USD in a year. It seems outrageous but the idea is that the high salary will attract better candidates. Meanwhile in the US a state rep is paid like shit for part time work and mostly only attracts fanatics or people who view government as a side hustle.

The general idea being that the House in the US are the shorter-serving voice of the common-folk, vs. the Senate which are the long-serving "wise men" of the government. That's why bills go through both the House and Senate. It's the whole basis of the 2 house system check and balance system of government. If you're proposing Senate term limits, it tosses that foundation of our government out the window. Put more simply, the House is kind of the teenager asking for $20 to go out, and the Senate is the parent deciding if it's a good idea. There's a designed and intentional reason in our system of government that Senators are long-serving. The system is also designed so that Senators can vote on bills based on what's right for the country vs. worrying about an upcoming election, compared to Representatives that can be ousted pretty quickly if their constituents aren't happy with them.
Why not, instead of term limits, impose a retirement age on politicians and the judiciary? After all, you wouldn't want to give some 80+ year old the most stressful job in the world just because the wrong people got heart attacks and suddenly the oldest member of the majority party in the Senate is told they're moving into the Oval Office this afternoon. You could still have somebody gaining experience in the Senate or the Supreme Court for 20+ years, but you would also reduce the long-term influence that, say an octogenarian Senate Majority Leader can have on the Supreme Court for the next fourty years, just because they don't want a "liberal" or "conservative" judge to be appointed.

Maybe the people aught to vote them out eh? If people aren't paying attention enough or don't care enough to vote out "career do-nothing politicians" then term limits is absolutely not going to fix the "do-nothingness" of representatives in general. In fact, the revolving door will only pick up speed. Now, if you can tackle the money in politics issues and make representatives less responsive to donors and more responsive to voters, well then you've sort of solved the reasons you thought you needed term limits in the first place imo.

I am in favor of term limits. I don't think one and done is ideal but life timers are a huge problem imo.

It's the people that keep voting them in. Even if you were to establish term limits...all it would mean for most of these states is that there would be a new face with the exact same policies as the guy before him.
