Yep, the gist of his piece was that they're pointless, dangerous, expensive relics of the "war on drugs" and there's functionally no point to them at all any longer since the most common result isn't an actual big drug bust, but usually either the wrong house or someone with barely enough to charge with intent to distribute who is likely gonna get shot and at least injured while the cops also injure themselves in their excitement to act out their 80's action movie dreams.

What are you talking about? Last thing I see about it, is that persecution wants to add a third degree murder charge, since it will be easier to convince him of being a murderer cop...

Where do you see that? Everything I'm seeing still points towards disputed cause of death.

Though it begs the further question: Why did he die in police custody over some pretty trivial crime instead of them rendering aide to a citizen who was clearly suffering?

So if we accept that as true (hardly proven still), the question becomes, "Why did police allow him to die of an overdoes while in their custody?"

    Nope. Still not true.

    https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-...-death-1568687

    The Ruling

    Mostly false.

The HCME did list drug use as being a factor that could have contributed to the death of George Floyd. But it reported that neck compression and cardiopulmonary arrest played a larger role in his death.

The HCME and family-ordered autopsies ruled homicide as the cause of death.

Neither report claims that Floyd died of drugs or a pre-existing condition, but instead that his heart stopped and that the cause of death was restraint.

    The toxicology report

Dr. Baker said the amount of fentanyl that showed up on Mr. Floyd’s toxicology report would have allowed him to rule that Mr. Floyd died of an overdose if he were found alone at home. He has also said he cannot say whether Mr. Floyd would have died of other causes if it were not for Mr. Chauvin’s knee on his neck.

Because George Floyd didn't die of an overdose at home.

"Would have" and "if" are not legal defenses for murder.

And really take a look at that second sentence:

He has also said he cannot say whether Mr. Floyd would have died of other causes if it were not for Mr. Chauvin’s knee on his neck.
If you're looking at that statement to exonerate Chauvin...you're looking in the wrong place.

Weird that you seem to have specifically decided to exclude the previous sentence in that quote?

Dr. Baker has ruled Mr. Floyd’s death a homicide, with contributing factors being the restraint by Mr. Chauvin, drugs in Mr. Floyd’s system and his underlying health conditions.
And as a reminder: This was over a counterfeit $20.

Did you see the amount of drugs he had in his body?

He literally had lethal amounts of fenthanyl and other drugs in his body

He deffo was going to OD. Chauvin deffo a played a role in his death

So a man that was experience an overdose, which officers are supposedly trained to look for, died in police custody with multiple officers present and capable of rendering aide to him or at least checking on his health.

Even if we take your version of events, I fail to see how it's much better for the cops beyond, "Well they didn't murder him, they just willingly allowed him to die in their custody without lifting a finger to help."

Yeah...he played a role in Floyd's death. He caused it.

George Floyd did not die of an overdose.

Respiratory issues are a common cause of death of fentanyl just saying out there

Lets see how it plays out

No, he didn't. I have already debunked this shit with 2 different people this week. Read the fucking autopsies.

If you are "just saying" that George Floyd would have died if Derek Chauvin had not taken the actions he did, you're objectively wrong as demonstrated by the autopsies. Derek Chauvin choosing to take the actions he did resulted in George Floyd's death, ergo it was a homicide.

If you're not "just saying" that it wasn't a homicide, then what are you saying? Besides pushing a version of the Just World Fallacy in which only bad people get targeted by police therefore anyone who dies in police custody must deserve it.

There is no "He was deffo going to OD" here.

If he was going to OD...the officers should have administered Narcan, or called an ambulance.

Kneeling on his neck is a poor way of administering medical treatment.

It's weird that the cops can just...let someone die while in their custody because they refuse to lift a finger (or a knee), and not only are there no consequences, but people will go out and defend the cops for letting people die when there are clear opportunities for the officer(s) to take action to save a life.

Especially over something silly like a fake $20 and some personal drug use. Seems like some lives really don't matter to some folks.

All you're doing, here, is playing defense for a bunch of murderous racist cops. That's your "side" that you've chosen for yourself. That's why you've got to lie about the facts of the case.

Floyd did not overdose. Drugs did not kill him. Chauvin's knee on his neck killed him. Both autopsies confirmed that fact. If you can't accept that, it's because your need to feel like the racist murderers were in the right to murder a black guy in cold blood is more important to you than the facts.

And that says everything anyone would ever need to know about your position.

Really, from the moment of arrest forward, protecting a person's life and safety should be entirely in the police's hands, while in custody. If they die or get injured, you'd better be able to show it was unpreventable natural causes, like a sudden aneurysm or something. Because if the guy overdoses and you don't get him medical help, or he gets beaten and succumbs to his injuries, or he isn't secured properly and is bounced around and takes a fatal blow to the head, these kinds of things should get every officer involved charged with criminal negligence leading to death, or manslaughter, however their jurisdiction phrases that. The same way they'd be charged if they were playing Angry Birds on their phone while driving and hit and killed someone. It's the same thing.

You just give cops a free pass to kill people, for some fucking reason.

And that's the weirdest thing. When a judge breaks the law...everyone wants to see them held accountable. When a lawyer breaks the law...everyone wants to see them held accountable. But when a cop breaks the law...all these people want to try and pin the blame on the victim.

A knee to the throat is more dangerous.

    Stop posting racist propaganda.

There’s no other way to put it. Racist.

Goddam you’re racist. And the fact that the board allows racist propaganda, but I can’t call people out on believing it, is hilarious.
