I think they'll dive head first into Culture War nonsense and redouble their efforts to fuck state level voting processes in red leaning swing states to maintain their ever-dwindling grasp of the electorate.

But it's hard to say being only a month or two into this administration, so who knows what nonsense controversy Republicans will latch onto to drum up support for their regressive nightmare policies.

They are already reviving the classics.

I just watched Gregg Abbott blame the rise of Covid cases in Texas on immigrants.

You know, days after lifting all restrictions and week or so after having half the state's population huddled up in their cars trying not to freeze to death and queueing for food and drinking water.

Xenophobia, and hatred for minorities. Oh and protection for the wealthy and powerful while telling the poor to pull themselves up by their bootstraps...

The same issues they run on every year.... Right?

Do you remember the old times when thing were simpler?
Do you remember when you could joke about an employee boobs?
Do you remember when gay people used to hide instead of kissing in front of our childrens?
Do you remember when mexicans cleaned your bathrooms without aspiring to the job of true americans?
Do you remember when everyone understood Police used to suspect of the black guy first?

Because I do.Ahhh... Those were good old times.

So vote for me next June and my time travel machine will get us to a world that ,although does not exist anymore, you can understand.

You missed one... virility of youth... There is one thing that everyone who pines for the old times they lived, has in common... they lived in the old times... but, you will find a hard time determining when this time was, because MAGA is intentionally vague. Because if it were specific, you wouldn’t be able to relate to all the age groups confusing their deteriorating existence, with social change.

The same thing they always run on in no particular order

    1. Lowering taxes (but just for rich people, but don't mention that part)
    2. Socialism!
    3. Immigration out of control (only applies to brown people)
    4. abortion
    5. whatever else they can turn into a culture war.
    6. Trump (depending on if hes not ruined/in jail/dead)
    7. oil and gas. They are already trying to pin the rising gas prices on Biden. Dems want to destroy your oil and gas jobs, etc.

"Its all the democrats fault" and they really won't explain anything that's wrong. Just say they bad in thier 2 or 3 catch phrase ways.

Uhm... they are likely to be pushing for environmental changes or minimum wage, once stimulus has passed.
They'll run on actually doing something that benefited the American people. Something the GOP cannot say they have done in generations.

Yup, the Rick Snyder campaign. All we heard in Michigan was he 's a nerd, ran Gateway(into the ground), and he'll fix things. Not once did he present what is policies would be, how he would fix things, and he refused to debate the entire campaign.

    Their entire platform:

    Racism/xenophobia
    Homophobia/transphobia
Taxes that only affect the rich
Religious supremacy (abortion is a subcategory of that)
And now “cancel culture” - whining about being called out for the above

Not surprised. They bringing back another old hit.
GOP Senators wants to eliminate the estate tax <again>. Exemptions for $23 million estates is the new tyranny!

    The Next NYT Opinion:
We talk to working class Americans in this "Ohio diner" that are very concerned about Dems taxing their nine-figure inheritances.

    GOP Platform.

MAGA == Make America Gilded Again

    - A return to company stores,

    - An end to unions

    - Removal of as many worker, child, environmental, and food protections as possible as they are burdensome regulations that hurt corporate growth and impact the "Free" Market

    - As much of a return to the overt racism of that past as they can get

    - A complete explosion in our deficits as they don't want to pay anything and, as far as they are concerned, that's a mess their children can clean up because they don't want to think or try to address it now to keep it from getting worse.
-- Well, they don't want the rich to pay for anything, they are rich enough they deserve it for being hard working Americans. The poor and working class though, those lazy bums need to pay for that crap but don't ask their employers for enough to live off of and be prepared to be called a welfare queen if you have to use Welfare to make up the income gap.

That seems to sum up their platform pretty well.

Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

the gop will run on transgenderism, what form will it take who knows? they did this successfuly with gay marrage.
except back then, even democrats basically placated the general public opinion
obama on the campaign trail said he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.

but now were in a case where dems are so pure they will shoot themselves in the foot to try and show how woke and pro trans we are which is a LOSING issue in the public eye, similar to how in 2016 in retrospect we didnt understand how popular anti immigration views were, atleast in key swing states...gop could easily win on culture war issues alone if dems double down on the left wing side. to survive dems needa look alot like joe manchin.
look im super socially liberal and pro all that stuff ( although i admit i do have hesitency when it comes to children in that issue) but for adults they can do whatever, but the general public is very much anti trans if you follow the polls

    And voting limits.

    https://apnews.com/article/legislatu...=pocket-newtab

Title: ‘An all-hands moment’: GOP rallies behind voting limits

Basically, republicans are going to rally behind and focus on voting limits.

    Excerpts:

On an invitation-only call last week, Sen. Ted Cruz huddled with Republican state lawmakers to call them to battle on the issue of voting rights.

Democrats are trying to expand voting rights to “illegal aliens” and “child molesters,” he claimed, and Republicans must do all they can to stop them. If they push through far-reaching election legislation now before the Senate, the GOP won’t win elections again for generations, he said.

Asked if there was room to compromise, Cruz was blunt: “No.”
The focus on voting is visible across the conservative movement, even among groups with no clear interest in the voting debate. At a televised town hall in February, leading Christian conservative Tony Perkins fielded several questions about voting before tackling topics on the social issues his Family Research Council typically focuses on.

Perkins answered the question by recalling how voting laws were made stricter in his native Louisiana after a close 1996 Senate race won by Democrats. He noted that the state now votes solidly Republican.

“When you have free, fair elections, you’re going to have outcomes that are positive,” Perkins said before urging viewers to push state lawmakers to “restore election integrity.”
They make it quite clear that, to them, the definition of a free fair election is one in which the republican wins.

This will be THE issue for 2022. Basically the battle in 2022 will be republicans hyping anything they can portray as bad news caused by President Biden, and attempts to restrict voting as much as possible. It has been argued that Abbott and DeSantis are intentionally trying to keep the virus strong in their states with 2 ideas: keep President Biden for getting any good news cycles from successes against the virus, and use any bad news about the virus as a tool with which to attack President Biden.

Republicans are playing hardball. They have given up on any issues (keeping the virus strong so we can blame President Biden for its existence is not really an issue), and are fighting with the only tools they have left. It is imperative that they get crushed, if not in 2022, then at least by 2024.

Illegal Immigrants are coming into America and stealing jobs of good hard-working Americans
Gas Prices are going up due to bad Democrat policies
    Cutting the National Budget
    Lowering taxes
China is bad! Gotta put them in their place. Oh and Russia too.

    I think you mean 2022 and 2024?

No... by being the party of Trump, they can’t do or say anything bad about Russia. If Russia is even a subject of discussion, it will be to claim they are an ally, but democrats want a WW3 because they are warmongers.

This is a unique situation, where places like NK and Russia, have succeeded in convincing Trump, that they are his allies. That their spite for US would disappear, if they were simply treated, like Trump treated them. I don’t think there has ever been a president so vein, that he would define intent in a conflict, based on the amount of compliments they get... they are not Trump’s enemies... he believes they are genuine, when they tell him he is the greatest president ever and laugh at democrats.
