For anybody unfamiliar with the White Sox, LaRussa was first hired to be their manager 40(!) years ago. There were 2 players that played in 2020 who were alive when he was first hired: Pujols and Rich Hill, they were both less than 3 months old.

So happy to see Abreu and Freeman win the MVPs - they were the two most deserving candidates

Jared Porter, who was hired by the Mets as their GM just last month, has been fired after it was discovered that back in 2016, he had harassed a female reporter via text messages, including sending explicit photos.

Here are just a few of the texts, which are absolutely cringeworthy:

Was pretty sad to get news that he passed. Don't think the sport will see anyone come close to his records unless they play till they are 60.

So no one was elected to the Class of 2021 Baseball Hall of Fame. Curt Schilling was on 71% of the ballots, short of the 75% needed to be inducted. Then he proceeded to whine about it on Facebook:

"I will not participate in the final year of voting. I am requesting to be removed from the ballot. I'll defer to the veterans committee and men whose opinions actually matter and who are in a position to actually judge a player," Schilling wrote. "I don't think I'm a hall of famer as I've often stated but if former players think I am then I'll accept that with honor."
So he admits that he doesn't think he's a hall of famer, yet he's crying about not getting in. Basically "screw you guys for not letting me in, I didn't want to join your stupid club anyway!"

What a piece of work this guy is.

The Mariners have an uncanny way of punching themselves in the dick whenever things start looking good.

Good gravy, that's...wow. Although I bet the MLBPA is salivating at some of what he said regarding player development...sayin' the quiet parts out loud there.

MLB is bringing back access to video during the game. Yet another way the Astros fucked the entire sport was the loss of video, which caused a lot of poor seasons for players who were used to having it for making in-game adjustments. I'm glad to see them get their tools back, and fuck you Astros yet again for starting this bull shit.

It wasn't allowed because of COVID protocols, not because of the Astros. They were considering changing stuff because of the Astros, but nothing was done because of that. It wasn't until the safety protocols were published that anything was changed about video. Going into the clubhouse is still not being allowed, they're just now letting edited video (not showing catcher signals) be shown on the players' ipads in the dugouts.

I don't know what to tell you besides that is simply not true. They were, as you say, "considering" making changes, then later they made changes... and you want to tell me these things are unrelated? Manfred was talking about this amidst digging himself in a hole with his "piece of metal" interview. Astros don't get to escape blame for this.

Former player Johnny Damon was arrested for drunk driving along with his wife last month. They actually scuffle with the officer at one point. They're so sloshed they aren't even capable of following the officer's simple orders like "Stay in the car". Either that, or they're just insanely entitled assholes who always act that way.

Here is the video of the arrest:

Some choice quotes from the video:

"I know I'm being targeted because I'm a Trump supporter."

"Look at my license plate, Blue Lives Matter."

"She's a tough girl, she fights all the time." (Johnny about his wife)

"I would be cuz I'm a big boy" (in response to the officer asking him if he is willing to do a field sobriety test)

MLB testing no shifting.. Not sure I like it. Would make the game more static than it already is.

Putting an infielder in shallow right is a bit much, and they also kill the rare 4 outfielders scenario. Still they will have the shift and play the 2B as deep as possible. Collateral damage to corner infielders who can do less to anticipate bunts as well. Its the one good thing about the partnership with minor league baseball that they can experiment at different levels and not subject everyone to poorly thought-out rule changes.

Eloy Jimenez injured himself again trying to field and is now out for pretty much the whole season (he jumped into the wall on a ball that cleared the fence by about 10 feet). It's the 4th time in 3 years he's injured himself while fielding.

Remember when the White Sox were bullied by fans and the media into calling him up despite saying he needed to work on his defense?

The White Sox pretty much have no backups for the position either. They're trying Andrew Vaughan there who's never played left and hasn't played above A ball (he was going to start as the DH this season).

Lmao, its spring training. No point in actually trying for a ball way over the fence.
