    damage reduction % dmg.

How does the % stack on WoW? i can get 105% dmg reduction with vers and i still get critted for 5k+ wtf is this math? i should take 0 dmg. or does nothing stack at all? ur dmg reduction cd and vers doesnt stack?

    probably multiplicative increases

Vers gives half the damage reduction of the amount you see, note the trinket set does not give bonus to the defensive nature of vers. So let's say you have 25% vers, that's 12.5% damage reduction. You use something like Survival Instincts, a 50% damage reduction CD:

See below for correct math, because I can't math.

    1.125 x 1.5 = 1.6875.

So in this situation you would have ~69 (nice) percent damage reduction.
    It's not 69%. 100% damage * 0.5 * .875 = 43.75% final damage, a reduction of 56.25%

    40% + 40% = 80% is additive. WoW typically uses multiplicative. Example: 1000 damage * 0.6 *0.6 damage reduction = 360 damage.

Just to give you more detailed info: a 40% damage reduction is represented by the number 0.6 (because you're reducing the damage from 100% to 60%). Two 40% reductions = 0.6 * 0.6 = 64% damage reduction, not 80%

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how damage reductions are calculated. They are almost never going to be damage reduction + damage reduction.

What a bad system tbh. but again. Americans like to make everything more difficult for them self, just look at The Imperial system.

This is a fairly typical system and has nothing to do with it being an American-made game. It's set this way specifically so you can't get 100% damage reduction, which would obviously be overpowered. Use that big ol' brain of yours next time before you post.

It makes a lot of sense. Let's say you have 20% permanent reduction of damage. A hit for 100 is instead going to hit you for 80. Then, you pop something that reduces the damage by 50%. So it reduces it by 50% - you're going to take 40 damage. It wouldn't be logical if it stacked additively.

its a perfectly fine and logical system,if it would work the way you wanted,it would have to be far more limited, the way it works now, alows for you to be able to pop a 50% dmg reduction and have it be impactful, but doesnt make you immune to damage if someone else pops another 50% on you,or close to immune to dmg with a disc priest or whatever

for it to work like you want it,they would have to drasticaly reduce the potency of the defensives

It is a confusing system for people when it say 50% and its acutaly not. and yes it would be more balanced if they nerfed the dmg reductions to 10%-30% and kept it at that number. It would make balance easier. they could also fix dmg % overall to this. common sense tbh.

try to think next time before u post ofc u shouldnt get 100% dmg reduction. geez. you can clearly see that dmg % is not balanced at all with this system. u can pop 6x 50%reduce dmg on 1 guy and he still gets 1 shotted by 1 paladin because the system is bonkers.
