Isn't that just a temporary problem caused by bureaucratic red tape? The UK could catch, farm, and sell more fish, I don't believe the industry is "destroyed" forever. Also apparently the industry is less than 1% of their GDP so they can grow other sectors to make up for any losses in fishing.

We are not falling apart, the fishing industry is 0.1% of our economy employing 24,000 people, your are aware we are still in pretty high up in the top 10 richest countries in the world?

The UK fishing industry is steeped in history, especially during WW2 when fish and chips became a staple food source (that wasn't rationed), the trawlers were considered legitimate targets and often sunk, so the boats and those who ran them were and are still held in high regard.

We are pragmatists at heart and will be fine in the long run, I personally feel we would have been better staying in the EU but c'est la vie!

Not really, I didn't mention it in my original post. However it was mentioned in response about the dissenting voices from within the Labour party, which at the time Corbyn attempted to just hand wave away instead of addressing it properly.

I seem to recall this as a scandal not so easily dismissed out of hand, but can’t really recall the details. The press in my country did an abysmal job covering the allegations.
