Classic XP Nerf

Just a quick question. Will they be nerfing the XP required to level in classic with the pre patch. Or are they not bothering now they have boosts to sell?

I can't seem to find the answer anywhere :S

There's hundreds of posts about it all over the Internet, it's around 20% faster leveling.

its far more then 20%
the exp to level is 20% less
ontop of that you get up to 40% more exp, you get better gear, earlier mounts, more exp from dungeons, more questing zones, etc etc.

Earlier mounts? Does that mean you can get your first mount before level 40?

yes, mount training is at 30 in tbc.


here is a video that goes over a ton of the changes, but even then there is stuff he misses, but yeah leveling in classic is MASSIVLY nerfed.
13:00 btw for the part about the mounting changes, costs also got greatly reduced.

lol okay. If you dont boost through dungeons or other means and just level normally it will still take you around 100-110 hours to get to 60 which is almost 7-8 hours per day if you want to hit 60 by TBC launch...

I don't mind so much not getting to 60 by June 1st. Hitting Outland maybe 2-4 weeks after launch is fine for me. Hopefully some of the congestion in Hellfire will have cleared by then.

20-60 will be much faster (you need less exp per each level) + dungeons quests and avg quests will give you more exp

I doubt many can do it in 80 hours, without help. That's barely over 3 days played.

yeah leveling in 3,3 days is not something "you can do". Most people still take 5-7 days which is literally double that time.

Also not sold on the leveling being 50% faster.

With quests, it will be close to 50% faster, but that's still a tough hill to climb in 3 days. In reality, I think it will be closer to about 40% faster.

It's tough to calculate, sure based off xp reduction and quest increase you could say it's about 30%, but then you have to factor in that you'll be traveling around less due to the decreased XP required/more quest XP, and that you get a mount 10 levels earlier.

I wouldn't say 50%, but I wouldn't say 30% either.

true, but some have, some have gotten it down to even just over 48 hours.

So 1-60 in 40 hours, no boosts or such? Cool. I'll hold you to that. My belf hunter better hit 60 before June 1st by playing less than 3 hours a day.
