    Question What is Woke Disney?

Ben Garrison is a political cartoonist. Can anyone decipher the politics of his latest work?

I see he labels everything. Which seems to create more confusion than clarification.

AntifaLand does sound like it might be a fun ride, for like 5 minutes.

I've never been able to figure out if he's an honest lunatic or just a canny salesman who's found a market he can exploit just by spamming the dumbest political memes into every one of his cartoons.

It seems he's trying to cram in as many right wing boogeymen as he can into a single cartoon. "forced Pronouns". BLM, White privilege, Vaccines, Socialism, Antifa...

I'll give him some points for "Black Lives Matterhorn" but piling on everything else on top just makes for a muddy joke.

I'm a firm believer in there not being a difference between pretending to be retarded and actually being retarded, especially when no-one else is in on the joke. It doesn't really matter where BG falls on the spectrum tbh.

I sincerely do not know what the "M" word they're referring to here is...

also shocking how not horny this is compared to his other work.

Why are rightwing memes so cringey? It's the low IQ isn't it?

The only thing that makes sense is "mouse".

Which means, y'know, that Garrison is suggesting that the N-word is just . . . what black people are, and they shouldn't complain when they get called that.

Because he's a violent racist. Among the rest of the lunacy.

Am I a complete idiot for not being able to figure out what the “M” word is supposed to be?

Is it “mouse?” Why is it relevant that one of the dwarves from sleeping beauty is... being accused of calling Mickey... a mouse, I guess...?

Also, I don’t think that your “epic cartoon takedown” is particularly effective if like 90% of what you’re showing in it is stuff that would actually be pretty nice to have a large corporation like Disney do. It would be freakin’ fantastic if they limited their park attendance to fully vaccinated people, or showed concerted support for Black Lives Matter, etc.

And it doesn’t even seem like he’s clever enough to insinuate that Disney is doing these things from a purely cynical, pandering, money-hungry point of view that might have made this something to actually ponder rather than roll ones eyes at.

One of the all time greatest cartoonists, Gary Larson, made this point back in the 1980s.

Ohhh it took an hour, but I finally realized why Mickey is punching Donald the Duck. The artist is super lazy with his puns and/or allegory.

I think that’s too smart for him, honestly. And besides, doesn’t showing Donald duck being punched conflict with the notion that trump is all-powerful and always has the upper hand in whatever 12-dimensional chess he’s supposedly playing that I’m sure is republican meme iconography at this point?

Idiots like this can't make that point, because they're too busy also fellating the Free Market.™ They haven't quite figured out that the only reason this "woke" shit is so popular with corporations is because it's popular with the people who buy those corporations' stuff. So they have to pretend its some leftist marxist postermodernist plot to...I don't know...persecute conservatives...I guess. Rather than the cynical cash-grab that it is.

Also that Donald is canonically known as a raging crazy man duck. Seems off-brand for Garrison to draw that analogy.

    Also, y'know, the forbidden archives;

Ben Garrison and Jon McNaughton or whatever his name is are generally unintentionally hilarious.

As an aside I don't really know why that particular film would be forbidden, seeing as I'm fairly certain that it comes from a piece of anti-nazi propaganda that Disney produced for the allied war effort in WW2. I guess they could be worried that people would take it out of context by displaying a Disney character as a nazi, but if I recall that film is a rather obvious indictment of nazi germany.

Though I'm doubtful that this Garrison character would be able to grasp that. The thought process behind this whole cartoon seems extremely superficial.

Other than the baffling "M" word thing. The insinuation of the illuminati ride thing in the background is also a little more pants-on-head crazy than I'd think the usual "conservative outrage comic" would draw upon.

...Hell, even looking closer it's not even internally consistent; there's what appears to be a blonde, white woman on the way to board the train ride that she would supposedly be unable to ride because of her "white privilege."

I just Google image searched Ben Garrison's "works".

For real tho... It's like what I image Hitler Youth comics probably looked like back in the day.

The racist/sexist caricatures and stereotypes are in a league of their own.

This is suppose to be about "Woke Disney" but since it's now about how much of a nut job Ben Garrison is, you should see his other cartoons. Like his political cartoons or his anti-vaxx cartoons. He's a certified fruitcake but, as Endus said, it's hard to know if he's intentionally like this or if he believes this crap.

It's certainly harmful either way. I'm sure this kind of nonsense is popular distribution fodder amongst the facebook boomer population.
