The way Belarus treats their journalists is unacceptable. They should do like we do, lock em somewhere, throw away the key and never talk about them again.

You love to use strong words for relatively harmless intelligence operations.
EU harbors quite many freedom fighters of questionable beliefs. One man's terrorist another man's freedom fighter.
Why not? All you had is 6 hour delay of one plane. However, the point is that even if hijacking him could be justified that doesn't justify Belarus hijacking a plane between two EU-countries (and kidnapping his girlfriend "for reasons").
...and shattered perception of EU importance being a shield against such operations.
I know that you often struggle with understanding English so let me help you out once more. It's an offer to help with the transition away from being a dictatorship that uses acts of terror to get a hold of dissidents. So it's the exact opposite of what you understood.
You're welcome.

Right, corruption is apparently worse than living under a dictatorship, got it.
Except when it suits them then its all ok for the EU to force, Belarussian style, foreign owned passenger planes to the ground. Perhaps Lukaschenko thought what was ok for the EU to do is ok for me.

EU hypocrisy at its finest.
Because they are appropriate to the situation. That's why the airliner, and most of the rest of Europe and the US are also using strong words, and actions.
It was a hijacking of a plane by the terrorist state Belarus, in order to kidnap a passenger flying between two EU countries.
However, all I see from you are disinformation and lies - and no admission of guilt when the lies are exposed, like when you just claimed that no-one mentioned the Russian girlfriend. That's why I've been able to twice repost the same message showing that people actually mention the things you claim they don't.
After the hijacking and kidnapping, the EU (and some others) stopped flying over Belarus, stopped Belarus from flying to the EU, and slapped some additional sanctions against Belarussian officials and against Belarus whose main export seems to be manure.
Russia sort of luke-warmly took the Belarussian side without committing themselves (previously Belarus have tried to play other countries against each other for favours).
Lukashenko still remains in power, I don't see that changing - but we never know.

That's probably because nobody gives a shit about him or his gf. As you have been told multiple times. We can't tell you to stop abusing your own citizens, but we can tell you to stop hijacking our planes and putting some 80 EU citizens in jeopardy to fuck around with one or two of your own people.
Get that into your head, we don't care about the activist or his gf. It's about OUR citizens that are totally innocent in all of this. See, this is also the reason why nobody really reacts when you talk about him being a nazi or not. Nobody gives a shit. He might be a nazi, he might not be, doesn't give Belarus an excuse to break ICAO rules and mess with our citizens.

You're overly dramatic. There was no jeopardy as there never have been any bomb. Planes and passengers aren't placed in significant danger just by landing in another airport.
6 hour delay = ban air companies of entire country and close airspace.Get that into your head, we don't care about the activist or his gf. It's about OUR citizens that are totally innocent in all of this. See, this is also the reason why nobody really reacts when you talk about him being a nazi or not. Nobody gives a shit. Yeah, that still sounds mad.
I guess once you're out of sane options because you already used them before for other reasons you move to insane ones.
You'll stop "plane hijacking" that happens once in a blue moon... and leave thousands of other options, some a lot more dangerous, open.

IATA also condemns this action, bit more verbose than I've seen from ICAO, yet. But these are the two major aviation organisations and this is not just "the EU whining". Also highlights the changes to airspaces that have happened so far.

No you don't. There's nothing democratic with what happened in Libya, Ukraine. What you support is some sort of twisted western centric expansionism. Modern day colonialism. The kind that supports Saudi sultans in their destruction of Yemen then complains about Assad, or stays silent when Israel bombs a media building then complains about Belarus. Simply put, incoherent mumbo jumbo.
