Can't wait to see the gameplay trailer.
This one was "funny" I guess but I'd like to have more of the oldschool BF3/BF4 trailers that are crazy, but not *that* crazy.

BF3 and BF4 were the best BFs ever made. I sure hope it's going to play and be similar to those.

I'm interested. No surprised or worried about the campaign being taken out. Last Battlefield campaign I finished was 3. Battlefield 1's look good just never bothered with it. A lot of people skipped 5''s. One of the faults of Battlefront 2 is its campaign, which isn't bad but if you bought the game for the campaign its a huge waste of money, Now that DICE got the World War's out of their system I think they bust out a great game in the modern era (technically near-future). Its basically DICE's game to mess up, otherwise it should be a fine shooter.

Not that I care for those kind of games but the trailer is confusing. Vehicles, parachutes, storms, is this another game trying to get into the battle royal meta genre ?

To be fair (I hate this, but damnit) that's pretty much every CoD/BF game for the past like, decade. IMO the BF1/V campaigns are pretty good each, and I dig their campaign structure of telling different stories, but the last really good campaign I played was Titanfall 2. Nothing stands up to that from the past 10-15 years.

Me too, was really hoping for a return to "modern" after the ahistorical detours. They were fun, but I want more toys to play with.

They've confirmed it wouldn't have a BR option at launch, and I think maybe at all. There are some "mystery modes", but nothing is indicating BR. EA tried that with I think BF1 and it didn't go well for them, and since they've got Apex Legends I imagine they're not looking to compete against themselves.

I read they were pulling in more than that during past development, but I'm not seeing articles. Might not be true. The latest hiring, I thought they were a Titanfall dev more than anything. TF was a step back in the right direction when it goes for CoD. It's still not ideal when we are talking about BF though.

It was a cool video, but I’m sick of these cinematic trailers that don’t reflect actual gameplay or tell me anything really about the game.

Just show us gameplay footage and tell us what’s in the game. Enough of these pointless cinematic game trailers the industry seems hellbent on doing nowadays.

It's ridiculous that they aren't including a campaign. Did we not do this only a few years ago with Black OPs 4? I am having some serious deja vu while listening to everyone talk about this.

The fact is if this didn't work for CoD why the hell would it work for Battlefield?

They can see how many people actually played Vs campaign. I would bet it's low enough to take the gamble. And then you have Battlefront 2 where the tacked on campaign soured and confused people when it came to an game heavily focused on multiplayer. There is still a story, but they are making it obvious that this is a multiplayer game. They are telling you straight up if you want a campaign to take your $60 - 70 somewhere else to not feel 'cheated by EA again'.

2142... I see this title has a little reference to it by exactly a century behind.
2142 is widely considered to be the best in the series,to the point where EA had to take it behind the shed because a lot of players would have rather played it than the newer ones.
Which didn't stop people from getting pirate servers up again and again between C&D letters

Franchise has been dead since BC2

I mean it still makes a ton of money so I wouldn't agree that it's dead.

I don't have any interest in the last few games whatsoever though,BF3 is the last one I played

I would say the fan base has been gone and replaced since BC2. The BF series doesn't make games for BF fans anymore, it just makes generic cod with vehicles.

    BC2 included or pre BC2?

Because BC2 is very similar to BF3/BF4, more so than what BC2 is compared to the even older BFs.

It's also not like COD at all, btw, like seriously.
Even the "Close Quarters" DLC isn't/wasn't but came relatively close and even the newer ones like BF1/BF5 aren't

Battlefield MP is very cinematic, CoD isn't.
COD is basically an arena shooter or... a "movement shooter", BF has never been that and that's really what makes the game feel a whole lot different.

This clearly shows you haven't played the more recent games.

That's definitely not how I've seen the franchise. They claimed their own corner among military FPS games with Battlefield 3 that's definitely not just COD with vehicles. Battlefield 4 was refinement of their style. People who are looking to play Battlefield aren't just looking for COD with vehicles, which is full of vehicles now.

I'm looking at the "specialists" right now, which is basically the class-system (Medic/Support/Recon/Engineer etc.)

    There is someone with turrets...
    wtf?

I'm actually that kind of player that would use turrets as I love that stuff.
But how would that even work on a 64/64 when 20 guys choose that dude and everything is clustered in fully automatic turrets?

I mean, even if they aren't that lethal and easy to destroy, they will still distract a fuckton.

Nah, BF3 is pretty great, BF4 is good too. I forget BF3 is after BC2, BF3 is more of BC2 MP which is great. I still like 4, I don't think it's as great as 3. But BF1 and BFV are different games, those are the ones I'm more concerned about being pretty generic arcadey shooters, vs the better feel of BF3-BF4.

Battlefield has always played and felt better to me over COD. Hit registration on target and myself feels lightyears better than COD has ever been. My only issue I've had is the lack of anti-cheat and ridiculous amount of hackers in the recent entries. I liked the feel I got from the trailer. It seemed like they met in the middle between 2142 and BC2. Not sure if that will pay off for them or not.

I'm not sure how I feel about no campaign. I definitely play the game for multiplayer but I think the last couple entries in campaigns for Battlefield have been ass so I don't mind. I'm curious to see what an ever changing multiplayer narrative would be. It could be interesting, it could also be an ever changing cosmetic shop with some stupid side missions to not give you enough currency to afford any of it. That's what I expect from EA and DICE lately.

They were definitely trying to push "LOOK! LOTS OF PLAYERS, THROW ALL THE PLAYERS IN A MATCH, SO MANY YOU'RE FALLING OVER EACHOTHER!!!! YEEEEEEEEAHHHH" Which is great until you realize the last few entries there haven't been enough players to fill but a few lobbies completely for any given region. And if there is no anti-cheat hackers are going to LOVE getting into a match brimming with players and pinning the trigger to blow everyone away.

We shall see, I like what I saw but not holding my breath. I'm done doing that with EA and DICE.
