They are both activities. The activity is banned. Not the words themselves.

I got the same feeling from you. No phrases in MMO-C are banned. Just certain activities and topics.

If saying a phrase, such as... Y'know... "Stop trolling." gets you infracted... Then that phrase is therefore something that's banned.

And we are operating on the everyday speech meaning of the word, phrase. That should be blindingly obvious. You went with the technical use in linguistics.

and i am pretty sure we need to use the phrase pretty sure. Because i am pretty sure people on the internet of these forums. Do not know the meaning of opinions, guess work. And take everything you type as a 100% correct statement. Instead of guess work. Or something you are 95% sure about. So i am pretty sure its used in the correct way.
And i am also pretty sure that most of the time, things on the internet are harder to research with all the different sources of information.

Pretty sure that's not banning a phrase...You can use the word "troll" as much as you like.

Here's an easy one "During the Pre-Expansion Patch for Cataclysm I made a Troll Druid."

What you cannot do is call someone a "troll" for their posting behavior...because that's just attacking the poster...which is what is banned. It's all about context.

Here's another example:

I can say "Fucking Cunt" as much as I like here. I could be talking about my day at work and I could tell you this customer was being a "Fucking Cunt" and I would not be infracted because I'm not actually calling anyone here a "Fucking Cunt". However if during a heated discussion with another user here I called them a "Fucking Cunt" I would get infracted.

Be sure however, I am certainly not actually calling anybody here a "Fucking Cunt"...I would never call anyone here a "Fucking Cunt". I'm just using "Fucking Cunt" as an example of ways you can use the phrase "Fucking Cunt" and not get infracted. I've used the phrase "Fucking Cunt" 8 times in this post. Whoops...make that 9 times I've said "Fucking Cunt" now. Shit...now it's 10.
