Right now if I was Blizzard's lawyers I'd be scraping these forums, reddit, general forums, and twitch vods for examples of people asserting that everything in the state's claim is "real and 100% true" and using it as a motion to dismiss due to the inability to have a fair trial. If people's minds are already mind up from having only the state's POV go viral, they'll have a point. This is a jury trial, and if even ONE person on the jury was influenced by idiots on reddit or twitch, any outcome you "want" can be reversed.

The insatiable urge to gorge on this drama is providing a very real exit strategy to Blizzard. And if you think it isn't, why don't you ask Bill Cosby's victims how they feel about their assailant being denied due process?

I'm not pro/anti Blizzard on this. Even if all of these accusations are false, Blizzard treats it's employees like complete dogshit. If anything I'm glad the mythos of "good guy Blizzard" is forever and permanently gone. That said, if you want justice, stop encouraging troglodyte attention-seeking narcissists to gamify content algorithms on the topic.

I would not stop playing the game even if they were found guilty of mass murder.

The game is a product, which happened to be master piece for a long time. I don´t see the point not enjoying such master piece... You know, there is a lot of people´s work behind it.. included the lower rank employees of the company.
This has 0 effect on our perception of the game. Although I start to believe that this was the "distraction" that made the game go downhill... or a big chunk of it for sure.

It's a civil suit that can almost assuredly proceed before a judge alone if they feel they cannot get an unbiased jury (assuming it's even proceeding before jury in the first place, that's a California civil procedure issue).
Tonight for me is a special day. I want to go outside of the house of the girl I like with a gasoline barrel and write her name on the road and set it on fire and tell her to get out too see it (is this illegal)?

Whenever I see someone on the internet type "y'all" I can't help imagining they're the sort of person who skipped English lessons to sell drugs, Bibles, or Republican Party merchandise.

Cool OP has found a way to twist himself into a pretzel to justify staying subbed I guess.

Said it a few times, I'll say it again. Kotick, Brack, and all the heads of the projects named and shamed in that suit need to go.

But it won't happen because Blizz will just put their head down, drop some D4 news in a couple months, and the storm will blow over. It already is. The conversation on Twitter within 24 hours had gone to "I hope this doesn't cancel Overwatch 2."

Private is the better option now.

Yeah Brack could walk down a street in Irvine and shoot someone in front of a camera and I'd still play the game.

I assure you, these forums, reddit, and other places like that are not nearly as well-read as you seem to think. If people don't play MMOs, they're not sitting around trolling MMO-Champion or other sites looking for trashy news about them.
How joyous to be in such a place! Where phishing is not only allowed, it is encouraged!

And thats fine. People need to stop shaming people for playing a game just because of something the company did. Let them enjoy their game/escape/whatever.

I dont even want to know about the work conditions at square Enix considering its in Japan. Id assume its worse but women can't speak out in Japan.

Why would lawyer's give up a strategy to win on appeal? Blizzard's lawyers don't want a "fair trial", they want to win.

Same reason Cosby's lawyer's didn't vacate the right to a jury trial. Same reason Weinstein's lawyers didn't.

This is a very long game and people on here/twitter/reddit/twitch are celebrating that they got a first down in the first quarter. Suit yourselves, I guess, lol. Enjoy your outrage porn if that's all this is to you.

I don't think you understand my point.

It doesn't matter if they're well read, in fact it benefits the Blizzard team even more that they aren't. People who aren't lawyers and haven't even read the complaint engaging in a vitriolic outrage orgy is exactly the point Blizzard's lawyers would be making:

A fair trial isn't possible because CA's complaint went viral before jury notices even left the post office.

And to be clear, it's not that I think this: This is what Blizzard's lawyers will possibly argue. And if you think I'm wrong, I stand by my example:

What do you think Cosby's victims think of Cosby being denied due process?

Did it work out how they wanted? A several year stint in jail now forever protected by double jeopardy?

If that's the case the plaintiff can forward it and if blizzard's lawyers refuse to proceed JA they cut that strategy off on appeal. The greater point is this is a civil suit and not a criminal prosecution so proceeding judge alone is not only possible but even desirable in many cases.

Also as a matter of law nerdery. An appeal is done 'on the papers' an appeals court won't consider new evidence, meaning blizzard would have to forward the 'outrage porn' at trial to make it appealable and thus the question of JA would invariably be raised. Supplying new evidence post-trial is called a judicial review.

Lets be real here. In 5-6 months, this will all be forgotten by playerbase. Just like the fake outrage over the hongkong stuff. And don't get me wrong here, im not saying that whats happening now isn't bad, it is and the trash that is doing this shit and let it happen, should go down for it. Hard. But the internet tends to forget these things. Its just how it is and always will be.

And me subbing or unsubbing has no impact what so ever on the lawsuits. The people responcible for this will get whats coming to them regardless of my actions

There are other better reasons to vote with your wallet and unsub. But thats non of my business what you do with your money

I don't watch Twitch content and blocked all WoW YouTubers that were talking about it but took zero action of their own, most of them!

I am not subbed to WoW and after this news, I requested Blizzard to completely delete my two accounts so there will be no going bad for me everything I build in the last 12+ years will be completely deleted and there will no restoring option. It's gone!

I'm aware there are good people at Blizzard but until this company makes some REAL visible changes like replace all levels of leadership and also shows more diversity in their dev teams, I'm done with this company and their games!

I will keep one eye on this site to see any reports of changes. have a feeling it will take years for some real change to happen!

Enjoying the game and product has no bearing on what a small fraction of what is happening currently. People can not seperate the two. I can still enjoy playing the game while also not supporting the people responsible.

Yeah... that's what Blizzard is hoping but things like this tend to spike countless of press over time, maybe new ex-blizzard employers sharing their part, maybe current Blizzard employers adding their two cents... It is only just getting started this lawsuit will go on for years and more articles will pop up over time... so the player base will not be able to forget about it... cases like this keep throwing more woods on the fire...

And people do not unsub because they want to hurt the company, they unsub because they can no longer support them and everything that is going on behind the doors of Blizzard.. and if many people unsub and stop interacting with Blizzard games it will have a huge effect on numbers and that is what Blizz cares about!

Hypocrites and egoists, they care only about their enjoyment and $$$ that is it. Sad thing is that so many people follow them like sheeps and don't know how to think with their heads... This sheeps really think that some creep cares about them...

    Haha, I know right!

Unfortunately, human beings doesn't really care much before it happens to them personally. And lets not pretend this hasn't happened for decades already, its just that the later years it has been a focus on it, so many more things comes out in broad daylight.

I guess people would have to boycott most big corporations if thats their policy against blizzard without being a hypocrite.
