yeah this is basically my take as well. this really shouldn't be getting the attention it is, as any critical thinking puts the Cosby suite to rest. There are real problems within the company that need looked at, memeing a picture in a room is not one of them and is only relevant for revisionists of 2013.

I think a lot of people want to make this to be a bigger thing than it already is.

Is it entirely possible that all of them were in some sort of rape society and they kept hush hush, while the geniuses at Kotatku with other insiders are uncovering some deep shit? I guess? Is it possible some of them did shit without the others really being aware, and that the guise of this suite was just a giant meme to most of them? Probably more likely? Is it possible that the entire suite is just a fucking meme and some of Blizzards employees acted unprofessional or degenerate? I'd probably go with that because it's the most grounded answer in reality.

To me people are trying to make this seem like the biggest scandal in the universe without getting all the details. What's true is they did an investigation for 2 years and all of what we read are the details of that investigation. To me it reads like Blizzard is dismissive and shitty to a lot of women that work there, HR did nothing, and some of the higher ups let people run a muck for years because these guys were seen as 'super stars' within the company, or virtually untouchable.

If more details arise and that entire group of people were actually covering up rape and shit, then that's awful, but at this moment that seems like a pretty big leap.

At the end of the day it just makes Alex Afrasabi seem like a degen in pretty much everything I've read.

The Cosby reference makes no sense in any other context. You can actually see how they were using the meme in the group chat from the Kotaku article. It's actually pretty simple. Cosby's reputation was catching up to in his later years and it all came to a head when women started piling on in the mid-2010s. People knew he was a creep but they didn't know just how serious it was. I don't think they would be dumb enough to nickname the party suites after him if they knew the extent of his depravity, but it was known that he was a womanizing pos.
