Because Activision execs put an unrealistic release date since there wasn't much else going on, they cut funding and hamstringed the team working in it.

Differnce between not knowing shit about the project they were taking on and outsourcing everything possible because of mismanagenent VS giving the project to an actual studio that has a good track record on similar stuff (crash Bandicoot and tony hawk).

They did an absolutely wonderful job.

Don't give in. All it takes is waiting a few days after launch to know if a game is shit or not. Also, if they have any horrible launch failures, that gives them time to fix it before you start.

D2R is just amazing, cant wait to play it.

I'm just sad the gameplay is just as janky as the original. Also after trying out the beta I realised (again) how much I dislike the D2 skill system. Here's to hope Blizz doesn't collapse and they get their collective shit together, so that D4 can be enjoyed at some point.

Already tested it. It's shit. As in it's the same old tired D2 with some lip stick and auto gold pick up. I mean, it was fun to play in 4k at 60 fps, but that novelty wore of real fast when you realize how stuck in the past the game is. It was great for 2000. Not so much now IMO, even with the enhancements.
