Same day votes would have to be drastically insane for the recall to succeed. I suspect the major networks will call it relatively soon.

Yeah, Kornacki is stating that some of the Trump strongholds need 60-70% for yes, and they are barely getting 51-58%.

Yeah, looking at the registered voters for California, it is about 22 million. I doubt they get maybe more than half of that. Right now, the numbers in, for totals, is about 7.5 million, 68% of which are voting no, at the current moment.

So they'd need like 90% of the remaining vote or thereabouts to recall?

The same day vote would have to be heavily Yes for the recall to see. Like insanely high, a percentage they aren't likely to hit.

NBC just called it, 67% for No.

Hilarious that this was supposed to be a referendum on Newsom, but became one on Trumpism. Republicans are so stupid, considering how unpopular Trumpism is.

Yep, Trump got more votes than Yes did in this vote. And that is before the January 6th Insurrection, his popularity has only gone down since then.

It's about 70-75%. But exit polls are still going majority for "No".

So yeah, that 75% ain't happening.

At the very least, it needs to be heavily reformed so it has a higher threshold required to trigger a recall.

I think the idea of having a way for the citizens to remove someone from office like this is fine, but the implementation is godawful. People have said it before, but it should probably be a two-step process...or at the very least have "no" votes count towards the person who is being recalled on the 2nd question.

    That was a brutal beating - 67 - 32. Better than his 2018 victory - 61 - 38. I guess the number can still shift.

It will definitely shift more towards "Yes". Just not enough at this point to get close to 50%. It'll be another ~10 days before the final numbers are in.
