Really, what do you do with these Brownie points?
I thought it was just Internet bullshit where, for example, you make a silly thread with a false equivalency to make yourself look good to people who share your anti-woke views while ignoring or hand-waving away any explanations for the "issue" you pretended to have.
how come we read these forums?
Op's contrariness about ghosts isn't relevant. He wants things his way. And that means Sylvanus' tummy needs to be showing...so there!
Imagine someone needing to be explained the difference between realism/lore and game mechanics
and STILL not getting it.
Fantasy game not realistic enough
Not quite sure why our swords don't hurt ghosts, I'm still trying to figure out how we throw Lightning bolts and Fireballs out of our hands and teleport around...
This your first videogame greenhorn?
This made me chuckle. Good to see the "Love Rocket" got renamed and a new icon too. It must've been so arousing to those helpless devs, they just had to become incels... I know the overall situation is terrible, but some of these completely pointless and arbitrary changes to remove anything of even the least risqué nature from the game are ludicrous. Fix the men at your company, not negligible references to sex that only the most puritanical could ever make the concerted effort to be offended by.
On topic, I'd be fine with our physical attacks doing damage if the weapon were anything above common as the implication is some level of magical property imbued, so long as unarmed and grey/white weps had no effect it'd be hunky dory. That said, playing a Warrior, Rogue or Hunter in start areas like Brill or Ghostlands might suck at times.
If it's taco Tues and refried beans added, the lightning and fireballs out the wazoo later. ("That wing if the house isn't just closed, it's wrecked!)
Magic. Every weapon we use is enchanted.

There is a difference between the internal of logic a fictional universe and game mechanics. Magic and stuff is perfectly logical within the warcraft universe. Hurting a ghost that does not even have a corporal body with a sword is not "logical" in that universe, because it has its own established rules.
All the RPG elements were already heavily left out of the game in the first place, besides some mentioned stuff like fire elementals being immune to fire (let's be honest here if you cast fire spell against a fire elemental you would actually heal or strengthen them because you add fuel to them)
But it is left out due to game mechanics and comparing these gameplay elements with lore is just a misconception.
A game that perfectly follows the in-universe rules is not plausible in a gameplay standpoint and gameplay mechanics are necessary.
It's like asking why we can carry 500 mounts in our pocket, it is just a gameplay feature and has to be differentiated from the actual lore of a game, this argument is just invalid in such a discussion.
Or like asking why human males don't ever need to use the toilet, you really wanted to the game developers to add this feature? Nobody wants that. Or coming up with random theories why there are no children in GTA games (just imagine the media backlash if they added killable children in their games)
