Oh, and changing "concubine" to "paramour" is a deep and meaningful change! So many women have committed suicide because of the word "concubine"! Just like the word "bitch", that won't be tolerated in our tolerant and progressive Hegalian Utopia of peace and tolerance!

Why not just add a way to block all emotes from other players / non friend listed / non guild member.
Even have it default on and allow you to toggle it similar to chat functions on a parental lock.

The main issue is more about preference and choice being stifled or removed, not necessarily the choices themselves.

Everyone has their own tastes, and being able to customize towards your tastes can be a good thing. While the stereotype is that all men just want to stare at naked women to get themselves off while playing a game, the reality is that's probably an extreme minority case. Sure, men tend to like looking at women who conform to what they deem attractive... but women can enjoy that, too. Some men prefer to play as male characters, but women can have this exact same preference. Some like the skimpy outfits, some prefer other forms of fashion. Some men like super model proportions, some like normal proportions, some like more robust or unorthodox proportions; women have similar taste variations concerning men. If anything, removing choices from the game as being problematic for <insert social/polical reasons> just insults and offends people who make those choices in good faith and without bad intentions.

Ultimately, the real tragedy is that many of these changes are not only made in bad faith, but also the wrong way to go about things if their actual concern was about stereotyping and problematic referencing. In fact, I'd say it's making the player perception of the situation even worse. The best option would be to expand options, not limit/remove them. Instead of deeming things problematic, offer choice in their place. Akin to the mute or profanity filter options, you could have a maturity toggle if you're concerned about emotes or pictures or visuals in the game. When it comes to skimpy transmog, expanding selection and options is a way better choice by offering both skimpy and regular options to both male and female characters. Yes, it's more work, but it's still a better option in the long run.

Again, I have zero belief that these changes are being made in good faith... else those in charge have really warped, stereotyped views of their own. Maybe both.
