I don't get why they added summoning stones and reduced leveling times. That is so god damn retail.
Classic is good BECAUSE people have to travel. Classic is good BECAUSE leveling takes long.
It's a great idea but they need to do even more changes. All the changes they are doing are improvements but they don't change teh experience enough.
They need to:
1. Do a class balance adjustment, nothing too crazy, just slightly smooth out the peaks and valleys. Buff the bad specs is probably good enough.
2. Improve the dungeons/raids in a more meaningful way that just adjust boss HP and remove world buffs. To experienced players that doesn't increase the challenge, all it does it make the fights take longer.
3. Remix the gear somewhat, that would really be cool and collecting new or improved items would be a huge draw.
4. This is the hardest one and least likely since it's the most involved, but new content. Add new dungeons and raids and maybe even zones (Classic+). New content with the vanilla play style.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been playing Vanilla "seasonally" on private servers for over a decade.
People played original Diablo 2 seasonally for 20 years.
Good games are timeless.
Might be a cool idea for those who care about Classic. And yeah, I agree they should go even wilder with the changes. Maybe add heroic modes? M+? Built-in leveling speedruns?
It was mostly successful at release and mostly due to nostalgia and hype on social media. Probably like 95% of people who played it never stepped inside a raid and only a handful of guilds remained at the end. Blizzard is now trying to cater to these few who still somewhat cared about Classic for a longer time than 2 months.

The internet: where to every action is opposed an unequal overreaction.
Seems nice. Should be fun to play through on horde since I've never done that before. I won't be touching a warrior since no world buffs. Guess it's time to play a rogue. They should get rid of spell batching and reduce the respec costs.
Was really looking forward to this, but couldn't give a fuck anymore now that they've decided to sanitize a fantasy world because the employees of Blizzard are far-left ideologues and want to impose their world view on the playerbase
I really wish they would create shorter phases and cap the starting ones out at level 20 or 30 then 40 or 50 then finally level 60 without any raids then eventually work on releasing raids once people enjoyed their way to grinding and "mini-bis" on the way there. Would be super fun and I feel like it's the best aspect of classic working on doing a "pseudo twink" at low levels.

going to be dead on arrival, don't see how this can attract sizable player base unless the game goes free to play.
How about an option for updated player and creature models?
Neat, I like the changes.
Though, 12 months feels a tad short. doesnt it? I mean, sure the leveling is on BC scale, but it still takes a while. Would feel better if it was on a 14-16 months cycle.
To the salty people that hates on classic: Why be mad? This is a great service Blizzard provides for a segment of the playerbase. Its easy enough to provide for those that want it.
The raid boss changes are good, but two years too late.
The other changes are horrible and go against the whole reason Classic exists.
Once again, Blizzard shows its utter stupidity and incompetence.
