Thank god, there may yet be a way out of this SJW lawsuit for Blizzard
They dont seem able to release anything these days lol. Really hope blizzard is not coming out of this free either with the shit quality last couple years and all the bullshit around the lawsuits etc.
Do you hear the voices too?
This just sounds like standard legal proceedings and this news is probably a nothing burger.
And people thought this would spell doom for Blizzard. If anything, Blizzard executives will be walking out of the courthouse to the nWo theme, playing air guitar with Dennis Rodman while fireworks go off.
Since it sadly looks like there won't be any justice for the ACTUAL victims who worked at Blizzard can we roll back all these stupid changes on removed emotes and /jokes
It is because it isn't like charges were filed against people. A lawsuit isn't "justice", regardless of the outcome. Justice is consequences for the guilty parties, and everyone knew specific people were not going to be punished at all, Blizzard was always the front and center.
They're not going to release the book until 9.2 comes out because it would give away whether or not 9.2 will be the last patch of Shadowlands, cementing people's expectations for the future of WoW. That could be a financial disaster as WoW is the only game that is still making money for Blizzard besides Hearthstone. It is also possible that Blizzard has internally decided to readjust their plans for Shadowlands due to the abysmal feedback about 9.1's story (Ion admitted in an interview that they make up the story as they go along) and/or because they want to wrap up Shadowlands ASAP, so the book is being rewritten.

Anyone who actually looked at the documents knew it was a farce and wouldn't hold up in court. The goal isn't to actually win in court (as that is impossible), but to force Blizzard to settle because going through the discovery phase is disastrous for software companies. With a settlement, the agency will construe this as a "victory" for cred and justify eating up more taxpayer money.
It's okay guys they banned the term greenskin so we should let them off right?
Blizzard absolutely should be held accountable for any harassment and unethical issues that happened in their business.
That said, it’s quite sad that the company investigating them on charges of unethical behavior and practices is now being looked at for unethical practices; and, due to that, Blizzard possibly won’t be held as accountable as much as they should. Granted that their charges are not as egregious as what Blizzard is accused of committing.
As far as the book is concerned, I agree with others who have posted that it is more than likely delayed due to content concerning what will be in game as well.
Attempting to disqualify opposing counsel is pretty standard.
Who cares if it delays works on WoW? This is the absolute Worst case scenario. Not the best for anyone except Blizzard who then get to continue to mistreat people. The victims deserve Justice. They don't need a one time chump change payment that wont amount to anything of significance.
All this would do is allow Blizzard, and Other companies, to get away with mistreating employees because they all see that no real consequences will come about otherwise. Worker rights are already impossible to actually enforce here in the US.
