Senator McConnell said the challenge now is to take this tech into the heart of Appalachia. He said people tend to think of the coasts when it comes to innovation, but he thinks the quality and quantity of the tomato product in Morehead is greater than other markets like California and Mexico.
He is joking right? CA produces one-third of the world's tomatoes and 95% of the US tomatoes. Kentucky is not even in the top 10 tomato producing states.

He wants to have as much ammunition for his state to throw at him as other states produce.

A report from the OSC was released today finding that 13 senior Trump Administration officials violated the Hatch act during the 2020 election cycle, including Pompeo, Kushner, McEnany, Miller, Conway, and Meadows.

Only the best, only the best.

In which former White House spokeswoman Kellyanne Conway forgets about the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020 as she tries to claim there were no supply issues under Donald Trump.
I mean, no one really did anything when Wolf was illegally acting as Director of DHS; I doubt anything will happen if he also did other illegal things while illegally directing the department. Garland continues to disappoint.

The best part is that the report highlights that it's the executive branch that can actually punish them, and that the law itself as-is has absolutely no teeth if the executive branch decides that they're fine with blatant lawbreaking.

And the IG who oversaw the investigation, which began under Trump, was appointed by...Trump.

Garland can't do anything here, and it's not a DoJ investigation. Hatch Act has clear enforcement limitations as the only ones with the authority to enforce is the executive branch itself, there's no recourse for violations of the Hatch Act if the administration in charge when the violations occurred decides to do nothing.

Ugh, sorry, I totally missed that you posted this news earlier this morning.

New still happens fast and posts are missed. I've done the same more times than I can count and will likely continue unintentionally doing it.

A U.S. judge has ruled that a congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol can access some of former President Donald Trump's White House records.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan in the District of Columbia rejected an argument by Trump's lawyers that telephone records, visitor logs, and other White House documents should be hidden from the committee.

As I posted before, Trump saw this coming and tried to file an appeal before the verdict was in.

I know judges aren't supposed to take things personal or be petty, but in my headcanon, the judge was going to rule at 9AM and instead watched Netflix till closing, then slid the ruling under the door of the office that...(checks calendar)...is closed tomorrow.

I mean, it probably wasn’t Netflix, but you are probably right about delaying the decision until the point where Trump cannot cause anymore delays between court decision and the action of releasing the information.

Based on everything we've seen, I find it unlikely in this case that they didn't have an appeal up and ready to go. Will we see it tonight? First thing Friday? Saturday, in a legal filing of ex post fatass? We'll find out. Team Trump knows how bad these communications will make them look, and worse, Trump really really really really really doesn't want to take the stand. Trump required by law to be honest? Pelosi might as well hand him a cigarette and a blindfold.

I don't know why this is a big deal, but, Gov. Sununu won't challenge Sen. Hassan in 2022 and will just run for re-election instead.

Apparently this is big news because it's on a bunch of headlines. I don't remember him saying he would before. Perhaps it was just GOP hoping to take the Senate?

    @Breccia @Edge-

January 6th committee issues 10 more subpoenas on top of what they issued yesterday.
    https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/09/polit...ler/index.html

    List is:
Nicholas Luna, former President Donald Trump's personal assistant
Molly Michael, Trump's special assistant to the President and Oval Office operations coordinator
Ben Williamson, Trump's deputy assistant to the President and senior adviser to then-chief of staff Mark Meadows
Christopher Liddell, former Trump White House deputy chief of staff
John McEntee, Trump's White House personnel director
Keith Kellogg, national security adviser to then-Vice President Mike Pence
Kayleigh McEnany, former White House press secretary under Trump
    Stephen Miller, Trump senior adviser
Cassidy Hutchinson, special assistant to the President for legislative affairs
Kenneth Klukowski, former senior counsel to Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark.
The article states in it their reasons for each one, based on the subpoenas that were made public.

Funny story, the State of Texas says it's closer to 20:1. It used to be 40:1 but at some point vaccinated people rose too high in numbers.

"Is that based on Texas only or nationwide?"

Well they both have 67% vaccination rates, so it doesn't matter.

Nah, it shouldn't matter what percent of people are vaccinated for that statistic. It's normalized by comparing rates rather than raw numbers.

The difference almost certainly is due to the delta variant, against which the vaccine is somewhat less effective. Studies that include data from after the rise of delta will show increased stats for the vaccinated as a matter of course.

I haven't got the foggiest idea what McEnemy will have for them. She barely said anything to anyone, ever.

Miller though...that name keeps coming up. In mid-Dec he went on FOX News no I didn't cite them I cited someone who cited them and said that Trump would be re-elected by a new set of electors.

Miller was pressed by Brian Kilmeade about the Trump campaign’s repeated failures to prove election fraud in court, asking “your legal team, in almost every state, 50 times, lost—some with Trump judges. So do you have the worst legal team...or are you just too late and this case should have been brought before the election?”

Miller suggested that “judges are caving” to “pressure from the corrupt corporate media,” and that President Trump needs “heroes to step up and do the right thing.”
    They didn't.

Basically every site I can remember suggested Stephen Miller would be brought to the stand. This, to me, says "some Proud Boy or KKK Motherfucker ratted Miller out". We also know the first round of subpoenas asked for communication between the...subpoened?...and anyone Trump, Giuliani, or Miller.

As a reminder, we have some people testifying already to reduce their sentence, some dumb motherfuckers who got caught and had their phones iMpounded, and Bannon who, despite his best efforts, was still not a WH employee on Jan 6th and therefore privilege does not extend. Bannon can't be surprised, he looks like he knows a lot about things that don't extend.

If these people have the common sense God gave the goose (or higher) they've been rehearsing their lies after checking their messages to see what, exactly, they said. "What I meant, Your Honor, was to tell Pence about Stephen Lynch, the Senator from Massachusets."

Why is it that Old Crow Mitch McConnell voted for a terrible Democrat Socialist Infrastructure Plan, and induced others in his Party to do likewise, when he was incapable of getting a great Infrastructure Plan wanting to be put forward by me and the Republican Party?

I'm confused by Trump's comment, because after four years of Infrastructure Week blueballs, I'm not sure what the heck he's talking about with "a great Infrastructure Plan wanting to be put forward by me and the Republican Party".

Did Trump need McConnell's permission before rolling it out or something?

    Yes you are.

Trump is, once again, claiming that he was the best at everything, and if something he tried failed it was someone else's fault. The only reason he isn't blaming the Nazi who murdered someone in the first Infrastructure Week is because he thinks the Nazi votes are more important than Republican General McConnell.

Yeah, I just dont know if the people from KY or others will ever vote or change when they actually benefit. Here is a story bout Minnesota rural areas receiving $100 million in broadband. One of the biggest complaints made by rural people about being left behind and people moving to cities, blah, blah blah. But they just dont get it that tax dollars can fund these programs and help their businesses and homes.

In the end there is no way rural Minnesota will vote for a Dem. Again Fox News and we know what drives these people its culture over policy. They will vote over their interest for hate and fear.

Perhaps not. But I'll take any sign of a rift between McConnell/Republicans and Trump/the suicide cult.

Sounds like a need for giant billboards with "your new broadband was payed for by a Democratic congress" for the election after its installed.
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death
