They used to at least. During Legion they had trouble with Kil'jaeden because their team was better than they were used to, so overtuned the fuck out of the boss

Depends what you define as the race..
The race only really starts when the starting gun is fired (ie, mythic opens) but prep starts basically as soon as PTR opens
Yes.
A two week race is nowhere near "pushover", the skill of world first raiders is way way above the general mythic population and even a lot higher than rank 10 guilds. If the world first race takes 3 weeks to finish, these bosses have to be nerfed with a two ton nerf hammer to make them beatable by the standard mythic raiding community. If you want these bosses to be their own difficulty just make another difficulty.
Also world first raiders can't day raid for 3 weeks, they gotta go back to work. So I don't know if 3 week race would even be possible, it'd probably get dragged out to 4 weeks if noone is dayraiding. 2 weeks is the sweet spot.
Whatever happened to the JOURNEY being more entertaining and enjoyable than the ENDING where absolute nothingness awaits you because.... End?
if they do the thing to not test last bosses on mythic as well i can see it going for a while
2-3 weeks, so long as they don't put the last three bosses up for testing on PTR. 1-2 weeks if they do.
If their plan of not showing the post-Anduin bosses in PTR and only open them on Heroic on week two (same time as Mythic opens) holds up, we should get at least two reset race.
Not if your QA team is competent and properly funded. Every other intellectually based business thoroughly tests their product before releasing it. It's madness to think otherwise.

I laughed at this at first, then it dawned on me... this is 100% true and most likely is the case.
I miss the time where it takes more than 10 weeks to see a world first
